Some back information?
It's really an exceptional animation with the quality of the backgrounds, movement, and sound. My only complaint is my needing to look through reviews to find out its less literal meanings. My guess is that its about how the baby identifies more closely with the cranes than it's parent(s), and is learning what a crane should do, and not what people should do, possibly a comment on the nature vs. nurture argument. Putting a small back statement (other than a story a prof told you, and a 5 day project) on how it's relevant in the course you are talking, and maybe a hit at its deeper meanings would clear up a lot of confusion.
Again, a fantastically well done animation, if a bit difficult to figure.
