A large step down from Shift.
I have no choice but to compare this to the main game, Shift.
That said, compared to Shift and its squeals, this game was disappointing.
The story was EVERY GAME STORY we've already seen before. Shift's story is unique and surprising.
The characters felt too toony in comparison, but that's not so bad.
The levels didn't connect to each other in any way, they felt unrelated - like when you play Player Packs in the Shift series. It was very linear.
Minigames are hardly a plus. If I want to play a sliding puzzle or a spot-the difference, I'll go to that kind of game. Why would I look for that kind of gameplay in Shift? (or AltShift)
Lastly, half of the game isn't available, and that cheeses off the average player.
The only thing about this that I like, is that the boxes function like part of the backgorund, you can shift through them. That was neat.
