Reviews for "Autism - Inside a Bubble"

Wow...

I'm shocked on 3 levels.

Firstly, I'm shocked just how many other people on here have autism. That's right, I've got it too. Well, I've got Asperger's Syndrome, if you wanna be pedantic.

Secondly, I'm shocked at some people's ignorance. Y'know, the people who posted shit like, "GO POST THIS SOMEWHERE PEOPLE ACTUALLY CARE". Don't listen to them. They're dickheads.

Thirdly, I'm touched at that little kid. I'm three times his age and I'd find it hard to do this.

I hope this helps people to understand how difficult it is to go through life while suffering from autism. It's even harder for me, 'coz I didn't know I had it until last year. But I guess that's what the video's about.

A big fat 10.

Pfff

As much as i hate saying it... Well done. I'm the perfect example for autisme and though i had a bit of trouble accepting what was said, it was very much the truth.

Understand though that like me, you don't neccesarily have to be secluded if you have autisme of any kind. I am very active in the community i live in and actually never get thanked for it or anything. Nobody bothers to be with me or anything along those lines. On my own i am defeating my own little Devil.

Though, obviously, some people simply need a helping hand at that.

On a more objective note, voice was (No offence) crap like recorded and at first made it sound like a mockery. Secondly, there was a hefty lacking of any real flash.
Disregarding that, you brought over your message very well in the end.
Congratulations. 8/10.

This could have went wrong in so many places.

You did a great job on this flash dealing with a very sensitive topic. It didn't belittle or patronise anyone in anyway, this is not an easy thing to pull off when discussing anything to do with disability so congratulations, and a well deserved 10 out of ten.

PapaQ responds:

Thank you :)

I love you

I have Asperger syndrome, and this does nothing more or less than give me hope.

Therefore, I love you.

Also, Malachy did something I hardly would've dared to do myself. Good on him!

PapaQ responds:

Glad it gave you hope. Malachy's a great little man, I'll pass on your message.

A Great Poem and a Great Message

As someone who is not autistic, I have to admit that this piece touched me. While I have occasionally read a news story on autism or watched a piece of mainstream news, not much of what I've taken in has given me an idea of what it feels like to be autistic. To be fair, of course, a Flash video can't do that either, but this movie at least illustrates that mental state with clarity.

What makes this great is that it actually uses the audio as the frame for the visuals, which makes the simplistic graphics effective. The animation may be minimal, but it is well-timed and matches the tone of the piece. By playing to the strength of the poem, the message is not lost under a shiny exterior, but plain and accessible.

PapaQ responds:

Thank you for the Excellent review. Overwhelmed by the Newgrounds response and the number of ASD members on here!
