Great concept, though lacking in polish
I really liked hopping from planet to planet, and enjoyed how missions unlocked sequentially. Also, the XP system works great and the hanger/ customizable mech options were great. Also, I'm a sucker for secondary mission objectives.
The story was pas for the course sci-fi, but then, I'm guessing most people came to play a game, not read Tolstoy.
I didn't particularly like how, after blowing through an entire level's worth of baddies, I would sometimes get killed by the boss as the last second, forcing me to replay the entire level again. Also, I sometimes found the end-of-mission awards to be a little wonky sometimes. It felt like even when I was killin' d00ds and blowin' up their bases, I could never quite get a gold star. Maybe reduce the prereqs a bit? Also, while I appreciate the creators are trying to get us to look at more of their stuff, I get irritated when, in order to gain access to some super sweet piece of equipment, I have to go somewhere and sign up and/or look at something else. Put all your cards on the table at once, and we'll be the judges of whether or not we'll look at what else you've got to offer!
