I mean, in all honesty, I can appreciate the game- and it's definitely something that catches my interests, which is why I won't penalize it for my confusion.

Haha, great game. Obviously, it is a sattire so I am not too concerned with the graphics or gameplay lol. They are good for what they are trying to achieve :D.
As for your messages. I wholly agree. Everyone worships the flavor of the month games nowadays (Halo franchise, Modern Warfare, Grand Theft Auto, etc....not just all shooters though). Milking a franchise doesn't make it original....just makes it a polished version of the game put out before....I could go on a rant about this...so I will. I like to call them "Bandwagon Gamers". Most people play all these overhyped games and miss out on the gems like Mother 3, Cave Story, GoldenEye Wii (a modern FPS gem IMO), LoZ: OOT, Super Mario Bros. 3, Silent Hill, Xenogears, and so forth. RPG gamers jump on the FFVII bandwagon and j/o to that. FPS gamers j/o to Halo. Not saying that either games are bad, but they get way overhyped for what they are....and that being said, a lot of games are like that nowadays: overhyped without much to back as to WHY. Graphics don't make a game, so reviewers who say "THIS GAME HAS AMAZING GRAPHICS 10/10" are idiots. A game (this comment excludes any sports game and most racing games) needs good gameplay, controls, a soundtrack which creates an atmosphere, immersive plots, unique mechanics which personally identify the game and various other elements to be a really good game.
Obviously, the industry is about making money, but when art becomes rinse and repeat, it becomes bland. Gaming was much more epic years ago when it was young, now most developers want to make a quick dollar, so we lose out on good gems.
Greatest 3 games of all time: Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past (SNES), Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES), and Chrono Trigger (multiple platforms now)
As for the anime comment....lol, I fell out of that years ago because I agree with your sattire on that lol.
Anyway...done with my rant.
