great

love the color and the smoothness.

BlackUniGryphon responds:

Thanx! :)

Beautiful, and deffinitely han Dynasty

That looks like Zhuge liang from the han dynasty. Yea, im kind of a nerd when it comes to Han Dynasty, don' know much about the Tang dynasty but I can tell you right now that this pic looks like The Scholar Zhuge Liang. Good work.

BlackUniGryphon responds:

I based it on a Chinese comic book, the old kind form the 70s & 80s.

In the book, they all look like Northern Chinese (Beifang/Han) faces, but i changed the face on him to look Southern Chinese... even tho' Nanfang people were just cavemen at that time...

the annoying guy in mulan

thats who uve drawn here. go watch the moviel. ull see

So farmiliar :)

Well, this is a quite interesting painting to me, since I'm from the Chinese-culture-area XD
I'm not sure if this is how people looks like in Tang Dynasty, I'm not good at history:) But I'm sure that this guy is not from Mu-lan movie or a copy of ZhuGe KongMing (whose is named Liang, ZhuGe Liang). You may find out how does ZhuGe look like through google...... conventionally he always get a furry fan in his hand.XD

I think this piece is definitely a good try on combining the Chinese style and Western style. The Chinese scenery and character painted in a Western style (which features with solid texture and colorful graphic, I think.).
Very impressive and creative, thank you for making this piece of art.:)

By the way, personally I think those southern people in Tang Dynasty were not just cavemans anymore though. They have had communications with the northerns in Zhou Dynasty(Wu, Yue and Chu are the major nations that time in southern China). Though I'm not sure "how south" you're talking about.XD

Well, again by the way, in the word WuDuJiaoShou, personally I prefer to use Xuan rather than Wu. The character Xuan would bring you some mysterious feeling :)

At last, I have to sorry for my poor English. Please don't feel anger if my words are aggressive or harsh, I didn't mean to be in that way. But with my poor English I could only express my opinion with direct and rough technique.
