Reviews for "TCT RPG"

wow

this truly deserves a 10/10. Great Story, good combat and you actually had to think while fighting some enemies/bosses. I really hope there is a sequel, cause if not..... that would suck! Excellent job!

To anyone stuck on Mr Pierce, just go for the power chair.
For the Vending machine,...im not sure
For the Wallmart guy, take out the vest first
For Maxwell, you should be able to figure that out on your own.

Nice Flash RPG, but still needs some tuning.

The game conveys the kind of anxieties and thoughts that some might have had growing up. That feeling that the world out there is so dangerous (otherwise, why would you need so many cops?). Dreams of being an RPG hero of some sort.

The plot has a clear purpose-retrieve the medicine. Thus, it is a clear quest, and doesn't seem to dull or unfocused. You've crafted quite an RPG story here.

Never seen any RPG characters with synesthesia before. Definitely original there.

The battle system was different, although took a little getting used to. I figured that for standard attacks, you're supposed to press the C button twice-once when it goes to the middle of the lower blue area, and again when it rises to the middle of the top blue area, to do the best damage. It's similar to the swing meter in Hot Shots Golf.

The last boss was wonderfully satisfying.

Can't say it was a flawless game, though.

The tactics I used were virtually the same throughout the game. Why? Nobody learns any new abilities. The only new ones I've seen are those from the special flower things.

There weren't many opportunities to get items.

There were many spelling errors.

On the end of battle reports, it doesn't say how much money you get. (And monsters do give money).

There was no item sorting in the menu. A minor thing, although even a simple insertion sort would have been sufficient for the game.

Also in the menus was a lack of description for the special abilities. For example, I didn't know that Therapy Slaps healed HP until way late in the game. I thought that it healed status ailments like confuse.

New characters aren't leveled up to your guys. Bella was at level 6 while the rest of my characters was lv 13. Chadd, who was obtained later, was level 5???. For much of the game, they were delegated to the back as item throwers or meat shields on defense mode-funny, because Bella for the most part was talking all tough and whatnot in-game.

Casting spells from back row has reduced damage. I mean, spells like Thunder Strike and that all enemy-hitting water attack, both of which are obviously long ranged attacks. Not like it mattered though-those two spells sucked big time.

Boss battles give way too little experience for the trouble. The boss in the desert only gives 400 xp and take many turns and inflicts lots of damage on you. In the next area, the vestasites (normal monsters) give 448 xp and they go down in two turns. Same deal with the next boss.

Why give XP on the last boss? Weird.

Spoilers

Some of the character development is just... weird. Perhaps because the game, storywise, was rather short.

"I enjoy being by your side. Life is more interesting."
(But we just picked Bella up a just a short time ago. How did she make such a snap decision?)

Jump to Rahl-Mart arc came from out of nowhere. So was that whole brother who left a secret entrance in his room part.

And then, in one significant plot point (retrieving the guitar), Chadd goes on to say how he's all just obeying orders and authority up until now. This just came out of nowhere-he wasn't developed enough to say such a thing.

An awesome game that captures limitless potential!

This game... Is friggin' incredible. It has very likeable characters, the perfect blend of silly and the sort of just-behind-the-curtain darkness that as a kid - or teen - or young-at-heart adventurer par excellence- you know is lurking just around the corner. The battle system is fun, innovative, and easy to learn yet hard to master, the special moves aren't just your average fare, and I can't wait for more! Excellent job Grawsie, this is super magnificent! Keep up the good work!
