Reviews for "Mischievous Guise"

The chords that come in at 1:00 was where I decided how good this song was. It has an indefinite jam to it already that I can't help but get down to. Beyond that, the way the melody progress and continues is really great; very subtle and direct. The way the drums come out from under the filter is really the best kind of subtle, and they arrived with the best rhythm you could have.

Neon-Bard responds:

Hey Koxyx, thanks a lot for the review! :D

"It has an indefinite jam to it already that I can't help but get down to."

That definitely means a lot! If my song has a "jam" or is anything related to the word 'catchy' then that's just awesome to know! I like how you define the melody as having a subtle approach and it's great to hear that everything developed into a solid mix.

Thanks again, it's really appreciated!

Perfect song for the season, so ominous!!

Neon-Bard responds:

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the song! :D

I'm glad you like it! I'm also really glad you think that it fits the 'Halloween' theme. Also, I've noticed that you have quite the growing number of reviews, keep it up man! :D

This is really cool. The effects at the beginning had me believing that it was going to be a really generic spooky halloween song, but when the 8bit stuff starting rolling in, I was mistaken. You have really unique compositional methods, but I think you can use more unique sounds. The sounds you used were fine, but they just didn't leave an impression. I really like it though. The mixing is quite good, much better than I can accomplish. Happy Halloween!

Neon-Bard responds:

Caught you off guard huh? Haha! :)

"You have really unique compositional methods..."

This means A LOT. I always thought that my style and methods were different (in a good way), but to know that someone else thinks so is just awesome! Thanks! :D

I certainly could have used more unique sounds though! Again thanks for the review, i really appreciate it! :)

Hmm... Unlike previous reviews, I don't think this sounds very halloween-like, but it's cool nonetheless. It can feel a little eerie at times but it's more up-beat, something I'd imagine in a retro game like ThunderForce (side-scrolling space shooter, an epic game by the way).
Don't take that the wrong way, It's pretty damn cool anyway.

Neon-Bard responds:

Hey man don't worry about it, I didn't take it the wrong way. If anything I really appreciate your honesty! I can see where you're coming from when you say that it isn't very "Halloween-like", though I still believe it has some nice Halloween elements thrown in there. In any case, it is definitely more up-beat than eerie as you put it, no question about that. Thanks for the review, I appreciate it! :)
