Reviews for "Covert Front 3"

Nice job!

I had started playing this game long ago, probably since it was first submitted to NG's. However, I lost track of it for several reasons. I'm glad I found it again (:
It is not perfect, and its most obvious problems have been pointed out already. Nevertheless, it is an enjoyable yet somewhat difficult adventure game. At one point I had to resort to the walkthrough to figure out a riddle. At times challenging, but at times also not that difficult.

I liked the misterious cloak and dagger ambiance, germane audio and adequate graphics, even if these last are not great.

great game interface could use work

I think personaly that melding both styles of inventory is good,
the first one had the items get in the way as did some of the clicking for reaching
items and being careful you dont exit the scene, here they were almost like the mac desktop wich was comfy but i would suggest making the space bar call open and close THIS invenory system so you can access it anytime with out having it close. and as said before, a guide for places to go is also good though this ads to the challenge of clicking with guesses and see where it takes you, the clue for tha numbers was so vague for me since I didnt know the roman numeral clue for the right locker and reading that hint led me to the place where i can find the combi number which is visible(the hint given was a timely arrival for me, ^^; ) but still... it was tough to figure lol I still like a chaallenge, and i do hate resorting to the walkthrough >.<
but some stuff is way too vague , great story I like the art cept Kara looks fits in this environment better with the clean line art from part 1 and 2, this style didnt seem to fit her. STILL this was awesomesauce. Art was eminicent of Mike Mignola BONUS! I hope this was constructive.

okay..

Graphics could be better, that's my only complaint, but sub-par graphics can really ruin a game. I probably would've said more like 7 or 8 if it had really good graphics.

It was ok

I found the inventory was kind more more fiddly than the last one. it keeps closing. I think was better back when the inventory stayed open

Good, but...

Like a lot of people have been complaining, the first "puzzle" is too vague. It was creative yes, but I'm sure many of us have been forced to use the walkthrough just to get through that trivial portion. Everything else was good, just like the previous installments of this series.

*Spoiler*
To those who are stuck and prefer a hint rather than being spoonfed with a walkthrough:
1) Wien = Vienna. Check the departure (arrival?) times near the ticket booth.
2) Roman Numerals. At the end of the document.
Both "clues" are in the document found in the newspaper.

Something to improve on would be pointer/click system. Visual cues on the screen showing which edges lead us to a new screen or showing would be nice. Having to blindly wave around the cursor and wait for it to turn into a hand is extremely tedious and adds no depth to the gameplay.
