Reviews for "GunDan Ep. 1"

Good start, keep it going

yeah, good animation
hopefully the plot will develop some more but im sure you are working on it
chill with all the camera movements though
=)

Aqlex responds:

Definitely gotta chill out with the camera. I was crazy back then. Though I probably still am now...

Anyway, thanks for the review dude!

It wasn't a bad thing

But man, you have to work on your drawing skills. The idea was nice, the animation was kinda smooth, the voice acting wasn't bad, but those low quality drawings ruined everything. And there were some parts without any music at all; fix this next time to make the flash better, ok? You can do some pretty neat work budy, just train more with the pencil before making another movie like this. Good luck.

Aqlex responds:

Art has definitely been one of my weaker areas. Not that writing was good either, but I at least had some practice with that, unlike my art! I've still got some pretty weak art, though I think it's developed into a bit more "watchable" style at this point. (And I think I've improved in a lot of the other areas as well!)

Very nice

This was a great start to this series of yours, the animation was very good with the character designs being simple yet solid and the voice acting was outstanding too,the story so far was pretty interesting to start off and the music throughout the flash was very nice to listen to so that's good, overall this was a nice start for a series that shows great promise especially with it being your first attempt at a flash series it's rather impressive so keep up the great work and i wish you the best of luck on the rest of the series. =)

Aqlex responds:

Thank you! It was the "largest budget" animation of mine at the time (and by budget, I'm referring to the amount of time and effort put into it, not money), so I had a lot riding on it. A crazy amount of things worked, but there was also so much to improve. Too bad I never continued with the series, but this first episode helped me realized I wasn't going to be able to deliver what I wanted in any sort of a timely manner. It taught me a lot!

it was ok

I think this series has potential but there is a thing or two you can improve. First of all make it more dynamic. I mean the scene when the camera zooms in on the earth, forest, mountains and finally the house was much too long.
Seckondly try using some more sounds thet are not made by your mouth :D
And last but not least try not to play with the camera so much, you probably wanted to test out your skills, but too much camera work is not good for a flash movie.

Well anyways nice job and i hope to see more of this series :D

P.S. Yes i know my spelling sucks

Aqlex responds:

I agree that there was plenty to improve here! And I was really overzealous with my "camera movements" back then. I think I've calmed these down a bit since then, but I still always need to slap myself on the wrist whenever I start touching that camera too much. I think the camera was still a very new animation too to me at this point though, so that might explain why I kept overusing the thing!

Thank you for your thoughts.

Nice! Love the theme song. I like the idea, but there's a little too much monologue (the main character talking to us) needs a little more dialogue (two people talking to eachother.)

Animation could be better, but overall, it's great.

Aqlex responds:

Writing in here was definitely less than perfect. A lot less. If I ever bring this thing back one day, that's one of the first areas I need to address! Thanks for the review.
