Bugs Galore. My experience has been ruined.
[THIS REVIEW SIGNIFIES MY PERSONAL GAME PLAY.]
Gameplay: 7/10 (Great game. This gave me a very good first impression and I was excited to play the game. The menu screen and music are absolutely perfect. Nothing to complain there. The actual game itself was pleasing. I enjoyed this new style of game as I've never played a game like this before. The variation of enemies and upgrades were nice, though, perhaps different weapon upgrades and such would have been nice. Pardon if there are, as I didn't make it past the 2nd stage. Also, I would recommend *highly* to position the ship somewhere else. The corner is a nice spot, if they enemies all came from the opposite side of the screen. I found it extremely unfair that enemies would pop-up *right* next to you from the upper right hand corner and you'd have less than a second to react to it.)
Originality: 8/10 (Highly original, but lacks a plot or storyline of sorts. The medals and their simplicity are nice as well, but reading the reviews below, it appears these don't work anyways.)
Difficulty: 0/10 (This is where it hurts. There is a *major* bug that completely ruins the game for all who suffer it's devastation. Specifically, the blue ships. As you know, these ships shoot missiles at you from a far distance. The problem? They don't appear on the screen. How can you expect us to kill something we can't see? I attempted to simply blow up all the missiles they shot at me and perhaps they'd inch closer or the stage would end, but instead, I found myself with no energy and I was simply devastated by a target I could not kill in under 30 seconds. Honestly, there were so many missiles my screen started to become choppy. Even so, I *did* manage to pick up the "Max Energy" power up. I believed this would be my salvation. With health to withstand three to five more missiles, I unloaded and made the biggest circle possible, repeatedly. The missiles stopped and I though I had made it through the bug. Wrong. I simply destroyed the missiles but I was been pelted with more when the "Max Energy" power up ceased. In dire frustration and my ruined experience, I will not play this again until it is fixed. I couldn't imagine how frustrated I'd be if I had 215,000 points in survival mode and had to deal with the sting of this bug. I'm not saying this is not a good game, by no means it is great, but this bug severely inhibits those who have to deal with it.)
