Reviews for "Her Wish"

Absolutely in love with your quieter music, it's wonderfully moving.

Naturally, I've been cramming your tracks into my Morrowind music folder like crazy.

Bosa responds:

Thank you, sir. My music does fit well with the Elder Scrolls, I suppose.

This is definitely one of the most thoroughly and objectively pretty songs of the round in well, every aspect. Your strings sound fantastic, as does the oboe, the choir and the flutes (the harp, the glock and piano are comparatively bland but it doesn't take anything away from the track of course). The mixing does them justice too. I don't know to which extent the playing style is something you programmed or if your instrument just does that, but both the emotionality and the sound of the instruments is greatly enhanced by the way some notes in a chord lag behind others and have different release times. And it feels more complex and engaging too!

Another objectively pretty aspect of the song is the chord progressions. For the first half they mostly float around and convey a mood, while in the second half they create some interesting variations on that mood - the chord at 2:01 sounds dissonant at first, then it sounds brilliant a few seconds afterwards when you realize what just happened (for me at least). The new set of chords at 1:20 is wonderfully uplifting.

This is also a song I've downloaded and keep listening to occasionally regardless of its ngadm submission status because it's relatively short, easy to appreciate (but still mentally stimulating), and overall just does its job really well. So there's not much wrong about this submission that knocks it down, but it's also clearly not developed enough to bring it all the way up to a top score either.

8.5/10

Bosa responds:

Thank you, good sir! I shall pour all the money from my bank account into yours.

I would love to do this kind of music if I had the resources lol :3

Bosa responds:

It's not too good, actually. You can replicate it no problem.

Everything has a very calm and liquid feel to it. The swelling of the strings sounds like they are tides and the woodwinds the breeze flowing. When the chorus came in it really climaxed.......and made me hit play again!

You have a great sense of progression and for having rushed this, you did an amazing job at orchestrating. This feels like it belongs in a movie. Like it NEEDS to be represented visually.
What I loved the most about this short piece is that I was able to see so many things in my head, some new, others old. A short story unfolded in my mind with this and that makes this piece amazing!

I wish you wouldn't have ended it so quickly, as by the end I was uplifted....and quickly brought back down to earth. I hope you get to finish this because I fell in love with your work and now I can't get enough!

Bosa responds:

Well, I'm the worst of the worst really.

NGADM 2 and stuff.

Very pretty, and a wide range of instruments to keep things flowing. Unfortunately, I don't think some of them were very well implemented, the "chorus" section for example, just seems to come out of nowhere and fades out just as quickly, and in my opinion didn't really fit in all that well.
There was also a problem with clipping later in the song when the piano came in.

Overall though, it sounded nice, if you were able to smooth out that choir section a bit and fix that clipping later in the song, would have earned at least another point. As is, 7/10.
