You can pretty much turn the particles off in the graphics menu. Not completely off, but enough so they're barely even there ;)

This is a Geometry Wars clone, and Geometry Wars is an Asteroids clone. It's all good :D. I felt it got a bit too laggy at times, though. Dunno if it was video or processing lag. Ah well, great stuff.

Yup, it's video. All those lines and particles can really take a toll on your computer. If you lower all the graphic settings it should be alright ;)
