It's Ok...
It's Ok, VERY repetitive though. I have to admit, looking at the title screen I was excited for a 3D game, however the top down Diablo 2 looking game play disappointed me. However, it was the game play that hurt it, not my initial expectations. The enemies were not very original, I mean a scorpion and a platypus are not scary or threatening enemies. It wasn't until the second level that we saw a giant, but even he wasn't scary or too hard to defeat.
The first game I played I ran out of ammo for both weapons, probably because I was trying to figure out how to create my traps. I kept upgrading the bunker instead of searching the buildings. My second time playing through I did not have that problem. But by third level I had two other survivors... actually three, but only two at a time will help you. I didn't even have to lift a finger almost the entire time to watch them kill every thing. It was boring on the one hand, but on the other it was fun to watch the devastation although you had no control over them what so ever.
However, I tried to open another screen and my browser stopped responding, no fault of the game I am sure, just my old comp, however when I came back to the game all my survivors were missing as well as a lot of my ammo, so I have no idea when the game decides to save which sucks. When I did continue and searched the building it felt like I was finding different amounts of ammo and it was harder to keep my weapons full when fighting them and I couldn't find any survivors.
Also what is the point of being able to move at all with the "AWSD" keys or the arrow keys in the game? I didn't have to move an inch unless I wanted to get as close as possible with the jack hammer shot gun weapon, but even that was not needed. Having to move back to the green arrow to exit a level was rather pointless... you can not do any thing else anyway so you might as well make us go into the building automatically.
I have to say the flash light and the eerie music was a nice touch for the night time, however the flash light was almost never needed, only a couple of times had a scorpion, which was the fastest enemy I have encountered so far, able to go undetected until the last second and had started hitting my wall. And that usually only happened if my attention was looking at the very top or if so many dead bodies had been on the ground I lost track of it. However I prefer the day time because you got to see the game better for it's graphics.
The enemies were also way too repetitive. Seeing the same two and then three enemies bored me and none of them shot at me so if they couldn't get to the wall they were screwed. And after I got my survivors, which they too had weapons, the enemy never stood a chance. I never even got to build a fire or electric trap for the enemies to get caught in... I do not even know how that is suppose to look or work.
All in all, although it wasn't a terrible game, it also wasn't a very good one either. Movement wasn't needed what so ever, too much repetitive game play (I understand this is a tower defense type game, but still.), too much luck when searching buildings which can either overly strengthen you or over weaken you (Although at times I felt like it was a good thing, while at others I didn't... the game doesn't hold my attention enough to make me want to play it multiple times.), bad grammar in the tutorial (Although if English isn't your first language that is excusable, although I would assume a beta tester would have pointed it out to you. (Although you will probably also see a spelling mistake or grammar mistake in this review, but I am not trying to make a game.) and not enough enemies and a weak save feature.
