Reviews for "DMT:How to read music/tab"

Very nice.

I thought this was a good start, but it could use a little refinement. Here are a couple of my notes:

-- I noticed that the forward/continue button just said "Menu." It advanced the slides, but you may want to correct that.
-- Stop music button was nice, but is there a way to restart your ambient music? I tried clicking the button again, but it didn't work.
-- I think it would be very useful to add music being played when notes are displayed on-screen. Individuals tend to learn best when they can associate what they see (notes on display) with a functional outcome (notes being played). For example, you could just have an audio file pluck out the notes to 'Crazy Train' as each tab is highlighted for demonstrative purposes.
-- Something to consider is some type of interactivity at the end of each lesson. Whether it's a tone matching game, or just a blank sheet to make your own tab, I think an add-on of that sort would complete this package.

Those criticisms aside. Solid start to flash/tutorial work. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Congratulations on the Daily Feature.

I agree, not very polished. After the next projejct gets finished, I'll be returning to this one and making it look better. It was just a mess I made in a few hours, and I feel kind of embarrassed that I submitted it with all these flaws.

I actually am making a game for the next one, a memory game that you have to find all the notes on the neck of the guitar. I brushed up on the action script, so expect a lot of SFX and a more interactive tutorial.

A lot of people don't like to learn from a wall of text, so I thought flash would be a fun new way to learn these important things.

Thanks for the criticism and review!

hmm

no spamming or anything, and it stayed true to the titles and stuff. and it also is extremely useful considering im trying to learn how to play piano so that did help.

Darkmaster603 responds:

I'm glad it can be of use to you!

Informative but not necesarily accurate

buddy great presentation look forward to the second one but there are three clefs base treble and c clef. now i understand overlooking the c clef beacause no one care about the damb oboe

Darkmaster603 responds:

I didn't mean to word it the way I did. I just wanted to show the people the basic two clefs and not confuse anyone. I guess I should reword that lol

Pretty Good, But Missing a Few Spots...

Hey that was fantastic, but I agree with my "peers" that you should add guitar pro, and i think you should've incorporated the naturals. Also next tutorial you should add different instruments (if you have time :P) For example violin, since i always have trouble remembering sharps, ect.
Also time sig. and key sig.

Darkmaster603 responds:

I don't really know how to write for other instruments, but I'll try my hardest to incorporate more than just piano and guitar lol.
