Oint-A-Pimple
An amusing take on the traditional point-and-click shooting gallery genre, it lacks any real draw.
I like that the player's "chances" are labeled as "trust," but I don't like how it was implemented. I feel "trust" is what, in fact, what would be called for in this situation, however, "trust" generally brings with it the idea of being something that you can build and mend. In this game, when you mess up, there's no trust to build -- she will never forgive you. I think after completing a difficulty level without any screw-ups the player deserves to have a level of trust regained.
And as amusing as turning whack-a-mole into oint-a-pimple is, it needs something more to be considered a "game" (whatever that word may have come to mean). As is stands, it's a good distraction; it could easily be an acne cream banner ad. I played it a couple times (admittedly, just to be the high scorer of two people), but obviously found it entertaining enough for a second go.
For what it is (oint-a-pimple), it's funny. But to be anything of any real interest, it needs a lot more. There could be power-ups, for instance, e.g., a sponge that affects a bigger area (and thus more pimples), a temporarily transparent hand/wrist (as it is a visual impedance), etc... Perhaps there could even be multiple types of acne, as opposed to merely a pimple.
The game looks nice, it loads fast, and it controls well. I think, at the very least, the "trust" implementation needs to be adjusted. Everything else that I mentioned is really unnecessary if you were just going for the simple whack-a-mole that you accomplished, and accomplished well. I don't mean to be overly critical, I just want to point out the extra potential the game has if that is within its vision.
