Reviews for "Day in the Life - Cthulhu"

umm... dude

at 4:30 in the morning this is a great flash, but I fear when I come back home around 4:00 pm this will not be as good as I remembered it, in fact I just forgot what happened besides stick poeple and a sea monster. I need to go watch it again. Thanks for distracking me from the fact that I need to do something important right now... @#$%!!!!!!!!

Battosai810 responds:

Well, if you really wanted to be doing something important, you wouldn't be on Newgrounds, would you? ;)
Thanks for the 10!

Rawr!

I do wonder what a serious dude like H.P. Lovecraft would think if he saw a take on Cthulhu like this.

Battosai810 responds:

Well, he was apparently a guy with a good sense of humor, so who knows, maybe he'd enjoy it!
Thanks for watching :)

Wow life changing!

I truly think that this flash should go down in history as the best flash of all time and things like that! Man i wish you would make more flash submitions like this. i have always wanted to see what it would be like to live a day in the life of Cthulhu. Now that you have created this flash i can check off one of my life long goals. The animation on the eyes was spot on; it brought me into the flash. I felt like the animation was good enogh to convince me to pay atention (by the way, that is hard). Here is the story of how i came to watching this flash submition of yours. So i was watching tv, and surfing the web, and talking to people on aim, and you sent me the link...so i was like ok i will watch this because you generally make good flash submitions and i want to suport "the cause" if you know what i mean. When i first observed this flash i decided to write a sumbition for it. I started to write about how your animation has come so far over the years, and how your new computer must make every...(kindof new computer...) much easier for you and making flash animations must be alot easier and quicker for you now; and how that must have some sort of effect on your animations. It is obvious to see how your animations have become better and better over the time you have spent laboring over the hot computer all day and night (or maybe just when your not playing vidieogames...or hanging out with friends...or eating...or sleeping...or painting...or doing homework...or going to class...or hanging out with your girlfriend (by the way how is that going, have you watched venture broes season 3 yet?). so back on point, yes, you have come a long way with your animations, the eyes on Cthulhu especially when he is siting in bed are impressive work. Only because when i observe other flash submitions generally their characters have eyes that look like they are painted on, they have no movement, even if they are creepy alien eyes like you have put. The fact that the eyes shift colloration flawlessly at moments that catch your atention and leed you to think that this character Cthulhu is alive, or could be. So main point on that is that you did a good job on the animation and such.

I fid it refreshing and inspiring that you have strayed from your comon characters, and added a flash (besides that other one milk and orenge juice, that doesnt count because it was for school and things for school are generally not made with the same precision and atention to detail that flash submitions are when they are being made because of the love of making your ideas materialize on this fantasy universe we have created called the internet) that includes a character that has no corelation to your other flashes. I am not saying that i dislike your other characters, in no way am i implying that, i am simply stating that i enjoyed this tangent that your flash work has gone off on. This inspires me to think of the other things that you may think of in the future, i hope you arent thinking of me thinking of you thinking of new flash work, because then i would be thinking of you thinking of me thinking of you thinking of new flash work...and that would be a strange coincidence; but it is not! Because of this reason, i know that you are not thinking of this because you are thinking of your next flash submition...or of vacation...anyway, that is how your flash has inspired me in my day.

The las part of this review will be about what i would like to sugest for you to improve on in your next flash submition to this great websight NEWGROUNDS. First off i would like you to think about creating a series of these flash submitions because i personally could think of alot more hilarious things and such that could happen to or Cthulhu could do. That means that i know you could also because i know that you know that i know almost nothing about Cthulhu and that you know an emense amount more about Cthulhu then i do...and so does Tragaskis...Ok so next time you make a flash submition try not to use stick figures...well im out of space to write now.

Battosai810 responds:

Thanks for the obscenely long review!
I actually made this on my shitty old computer, since my good one is still in Connecticut. A bit of the work was done on school computers as well. My girlfriend is doing great, and we watched all of Venture Bros Season 3 in one night last weekend. Kind of reminded me of when you and I would watch an entire season in one sitting, but instead of painting Warhams like you and I did, she and I were busy getting intimate between episodes.

I actually did make this for school - it was for an H.P. Lovecraft course where the final was making something involving both our major (animation, in my case) and the writings of Lovecraft. I chose The Call of Cthulhu and made my own little bastardization of it.

Glad I could hold your attention for more than 8 seconds, Jeb knows it's not an easy thing to do.

Thanks for watching!

excellant

is it strange that the ending was the only wierd part?

Battosai810 responds:

Well, I think the rest of it falls in a decent middleground of strangeness. The end just pushes it over the edge :)

Strange but effective.

This was quite the crazy flash for the fact that Cthulhu was the main character in it and he did rather odd & strange things in it but after all was said & done i got a great laugh from it all and overall i thought it was a great & funny flash, something i sure never thought would come to be that's for sure.

Battosai810 responds:

Glad you liked it! It's a bit of a departure for me, since it doesn't have any of my usual stable of characters, or really that much plot development. Good to know it was a pleasant surprise.
