Reviews for "The Dragon and the Wizard"

Great! But one thing.

This was great! This is possibly the best story-difference game I've seen come out of this account! The artwork was gorgeous, and the "alternate scenes" were cool too. My only thing was, as you've probably heard, the distortions around the differences. It made it so I didn't even have to try to see the differences in some cases.
Barring that, though, great job!

I shouldn't review this.

In all fairness, I shouldn't review this because I honestly just don't like these kinds of games. That said, I will vote on, and review, this one.

The first thing I noticed upon starting the game is that both the music and the art are absolutely gorgeous. That said, the music's loop 'is' a bit short, so you'll be listening to the same thing restarting itself pretty much constantly. Fortunately, as stated before, it's 'great' music, so it's not really a bother.

The presentation was another bit of excellence. The game presents itself as something of a storybook, with each 'stage' being another page in the story.

It's impossible, so far as I can tell, to actually 'lose' the game. If you run out of time, you're simply sent to a humorous 'alternate' outcome at which point you simply spot the single difference to return to where you were.

So what more can I say, except this is very much the definition of a 'casual' game? You won't find a blistering button masher here, and while you 'can' challenge yourself by turning off the hints, the fact that you cannot lose means you could easily sit there looking for what you missed for an hour or more.

Even if you're like me, and really don't much like 'casual' games of this sort aren't your thing, I'd suggest you check this one out. The art alone makes it worth looking through.

Hi, thanks for the wonderful review! As a developer it means a lot to get a well thought out statement like this... particularly when its full of compliments!

Wonderful

I have my reasons.

The game may be easy, but it was DESIGNED to be easy. Every intent of the creator was fulfilled, and the execution was, therein, nearly perfect.

I had the honest impression that I was reading a story book. When it came time that I was distracted and the timer ran out, I, as the reader, was not punished.

Very child's story book.

One flaw: Differences could be seen by looking for a small distortion in the image. A box would form in the pertinent area.

For those of whom think you should go into a 'different genre' and try something new, I disagree. The trombonist who gathers great skill with his instrument should not learn how to play the trumpet just because they are both brass.

Good fortune and keep up the good work.

DifferenceGames responds:

Is your monitor set to 16-bit color. I think there is slight problem with how we create the images when a monitor is that resolution. [Its on our TODO list].

Thanks for the compliments!

Nice :)

i liked it :) very good game :D

Great! But still typical 'spot the difference'...

I'm a bit tired of these now but, for what its worth, this is definitely one of the better ones I have ever really seen.

The game progresses well enough as if it is a fairy tale fable. The 'differences' also get progressively difficult (although it starts off slow and obvious at first)

Still...I feel you've produced too many of these types of games now, and would prefer to see how you do in another genre.
