Reviews for "All Legends grow pale"

In my opinion this is a truly phenomenal work, great job! It is so aesthetically pleasing, and the traditional medium complements the design so well. It has a very inviting and warm look and you can clearly see that there is one hell of an interesting and creative story behind the drawing. And overall, the whole piece feels like it would fit to be an illustration to fairy tale type book. Again, awesome job!

Congrats! I love the scale as well as the contrast of epic and quaint. Great job!

is that Jazza's axe?

DanFromBavaria responds:

Yup, this was my entry for his challenge of the month

I would first want to congratulate you. I also have a question. Did you base this town off any real places? If so, which places? The reason for this is because I had like to make a graphic novel based on it, for fun of course since I'm too young to publish. Anyway, I would like to say that the lines in this piece are so precise to me, I thought this was a digital art piece at first! Beautiful piece!

DanFromBavaria responds:

Thanks a lot, lovely to hear :)
Usually I do look at inspiration from Photos when drawing, but in this case all but the Axe came purely from spontaneous imagination. At first I wanted it to look sorta Favela-ish, then I mixed in a bit of alpine architecture and well, just whatever my mind spewed out at the moment

Hi, love this illustration, very inspiring!!! I was wondering what materials you used for it as i'm finding it quite hard to work out. Great work again and thoroughly deserving of the prize. :)

DanFromBavaria responds:

Hey, thanks a bunch!
I used black waterproof ink for the outlines, with a simple age old wooden quill with a very narrow nib. The colors are old Schminke Watercolors from Germany. Produced, I suspect, in a time when there was still a huge wall cutting through the country. But they're quality. Still as useable as ever.
