Pretty cool, some ideas

You might want to incorporate some of the ideas from the old Intellivision AD&D Treasure Of Tarmin game. Here's a video on the gameplay:

For instance, you could add doors (and doors that you have to fight in order to open and see what's behind them)

Also, have gates to teleport laterally across levels

Have two types of skill to develop: fighter and magic, failure to keep these balanced will make it hard to progress

Make it so instead of the levels being completely randomly generated there are about 8 or so groups of mazes, you make a 3x3 grid of these random mazes to create a level. That way when people become familiar with the possible mazes it's easier to navigate a level, but the levels are still fairly random.

You also have it so sometimes the doors are hidden, but if people know what the maze is supposed to look like then they can go to where the door should be and open it.

I'd also have it so no 90 degree change in viewpoint is the same so that you can tell that you've actually turned. Right now if you turn and if the place you're looking at appears the same as what you were previously seeing then it's hard to know if you actually turned.

Cool game!

Awsome :D

It was Awsome! but...
that damn Wizard got me stuck in there i had 2 fire rings and only got 2 charges :[
there should be like a shop with a decent gold drop rate for monsters so i can
beat that damn wizard, cant wait for the next one!!! :D also... this game reminded me of The elder scrolls: Arena!!! :D

Some Changes Can Help

This game is like the old dungeons and dragons game, so I kinda like it

You must add exp bar so players can know their character's level progress.

Make your vision scroll map a little smaller and transparent.

Add a Character Status Page.

hard but fun

pretty entertaining but hard even on easy mode

add
main menu
character stats page
instructions
and different graphics for different rooms NOT colours

other than that pretty cool!!%u2044

Hawkm00n responds:

There is a main menu?
Character stats? It's just a small dungeon romp. No need for stats.
There are instructions (well a controls page) maybe a story to give you objectives you mean?
There are no rooms. It's a maze based game.
All the maps are based off the original game.

Great rendition of a classic! Obviously, you have a copy of the original because the maps were identical. For those of us old ancient enough to have played the original, I would note these differences:
1) I cannot attack with shield bash. In the original, the most effective way to get through many things on level 5 was dual wielding mithril shields for protection and bashing.
2) No riddle/code word for the rings.
3) It is far too easy after the first 1-3 monsters. The original was much harder, except the final boss was actually *slightly* easier.
4) Graphics are better than the original. Thanks!
5) This interface is nicer. Original was text commands; i.e., p[ull] l[eft] t[orch] meant to equip the torch the left hand, a[ttack] l[eft] meant to attack with whatever was in the left hand. Seeing hit points instead of exclusively using the heart beat is nice, although it does make it much easier.

The only bugs I noticed were:
1) Solar torches don't work
2) One time, the final boss appeared to be inside a wall according to my vision scroll.
