Beautiful
One word: Beautiful. Sounds like it's from a Disney film.
Touching
To say the least.
Grins.
Well since I didn't have much to respond to here, I don't think you would mind me expanding a bit on the production side of things.
This track is interesting, I think, to compare to my later 'March' piece. It shows the difference between making a song to how you like it (as I did with this loop) and making a track to all the theory rules, and making it what the listener wants to hear (as I did with march).
Of course, this means that the loop here turned out much better on final product, as it was designed for the software, not imported.
Review.
The orchestration is top-notch, as is the production. The string section is very warm. The instruments for the countermelodies are well-chosen.
Composition-wise, though, I can see why you called it "generic". After the mol-dur in the beginning of the theme, I feel it kinda mudders along. I would've liked a B-section or something in a mediant key, to escape the predictability. I've heard you do better.
4/5 because it's still very pleasing to the ears.
I made this track quite a while back, about the time I released LPDM. I never got round to writing a B section, and I coulnd't get anything to come to me, so I quickly looped it over and submitted.
Generally speaking, anything for another submission :-)
My next track will be like Exaggurate. Promise.
Upped your score
That sucks that you got hit so quickly - I 5'd it.
Not a bad track at all - very reminiscient of Uematsu's work.
Great harmony - some of the instruments sounded just a hair synthetic though - other than that you did a very nice job.
I individualy mastered all instruments, which in reflection probably wasn't the best idea. I was battling clipping all the way through and couldn't get the clarinet to be loud enough over the strings. Well, that's lazyness for ya.
