Reviews for "Somebody I used toDubstep"

Normally I don't like this kinda of dubstep where I'm dropped straight into the bass after a nice musical intro.

Normally; but you decided to complete a thought, it builds up for the next thought, and right when you put the period on the end of that thought your ready for the next. Your drop didn't leave me go'n "WTF? where's the rest of idea A or B?" It left me go'n "its dub but its music"

aaronmusslewhite responds:

haha thank you so much. That's one thing i've consciously tried to do with my dubstep, keep it raw and filthy but make it melodic and musical at the same time.

Wow.

First things first... Excellent track for multiple reasons:
-Excellent transitions
-Your flares, rolls and flicks are fucking phenomenal. Excellent use of synths and samples.
-Overall layout is quite good.

Improvement:
-Mastering and definition for some elements would do this track good. It is quite good but needs a tiny bit more to make things stand out as they should (otherwise they can get drowned by adjacent frequencies/counter-point harmonics).
-A roll of farts. Yes. I said it. What you gonna do about it?

Jokes aside though, great work. You could honestly polish this into some proper crazy pro shit dude. It's well on its way as it is.

Haha thanks so much, I appreciate the feedback! I'm going to write 4 tracks or so and group them as an ep and I'm definitely planning on remixing, in fact I just finished all but one of the tracks last night. And then I'm gonna have it mastered by my boss and the studio I work at so hopefully it'll sound much better.

I didn't mind the original song but this one makes it so much better to listen :) nice job.

Somebody i used to Wub.

Seriously, nice track, at the beginning i was expecting for a chilly dubstep track then *Drop* (;
The sound is clean, good job.

I have a question, in the drop when the big Growl are playing did the Sub bass still Play or you should mute it ? Just asking.

aaronmusslewhite responds:

Hi glad you enjoyed the track! :D While there is a proper sine throughout the sections between the drops, it does mute for the growls. It doubles some of the higher screech parts however. Also most of the growls are composed of three or so duplicates of the same bass sound, usually one is a sub/sine sound. So I guess the answer is "both"! :D
