Reviews for "polarity"

I like these kinds of games, usually, but i don't like the ones that do not let you keep your powerups from level to level. Good game, but don't steal mah stuff at the end of the level please.

Assuming 5 is average, I'm scoring this just below. It does as well as one can expect on originality and you did a fine job with the animation, but the game design is relatively ho-hum. The enemies are not various nor terribly aggressive, allowing me to dodge the majority of them. I think I changed 'polarity' twice when dealing with them. The bosses were sad in similar ways. The choice of attack was minimalist, allowing me most often to sit still and just change according to what they fire, which was always a predictable 'red-blue-red-blue' pattern. I felt no sense of concern or danger anywhere in the game.

As for the weaponry, it was somewhere between fair and pointless. The shielding was an okay idea, but never needed it. The pendulum thing was weird and made a difference once in the entire game (largely because I was stupid enough to corner myself). The missiles were excellent, but I would be disappointed in a shooter without them. The sweeping laser was hit and miss, with varying moments of usefulness.

All in all, a cute idea lacking the energy or complexity to become a great idea.

Really awesome grapgics and sound fx! But not very addictive. Still great job! Fun.

Wow. Surprisingly horrible.

I found it the control scheme ridiculous. One word man ERGONOMICS. What was the idea behind WASD and B and Space? That you could play it with one hand. Spread the keys out? What's wrong with WASD and A and S. That works.

Your power ups blow. I found all of them actually useless. Even the shield was barely passable.

Besides that there's not a lot wrong. Music grinds on me, but the controls and no real good power ups just unloaded two shells of double-suck right into it. The ship could move an tiny bit faster.

ugur responds:

You can also move the ship with the arrow keys.
You can also customize the controls in the settings menu.
I´m working on more powerups, maybe you´ll like those more.

Nearly Excellent.

Although not the most original idea, like Necrophades said, that can't really be helped with this genre. And that wasn't even the problem. What I like most in these games are the power ups. And the power-ups in this game were terrible. Most of the time they either did nothing to help you (with the exception of the shield powerup), or actually hinder you as in the case of the sweeping main laser. And the boss battles were actually easier than the rest of the level before it. That being said, I thought the graphics were astounding, especially for this type of game. So, for me, I would prefer better power-ups, and maybe make the ship a little faster. Still, a fairly good game.

ugur responds:

I constantly update the game based on the feedback and in a recent update i made the powerups not time out anymore. As stacking up powerups would have made the game too easy i reduced each poweru´s impact force some. Looks like i went too far there :) I made em more powerful again now. You should already see that in effect when ( clearing your cache and) reloading the game.
I´m also working on more powerups so that will be in there soon.
And yeah,´i´ll work some more on the bosses, too :)
Not sure about making the ship faster, will give it a try and see how it feels.
I´m glad you dig the graphics, thanks for the feedback.
