Wow the influence is striking. do you enjoy his artwork? What other artists are referenced? :) good stuff though.

Yes I am quite fond of Dali.
Most things in this were inspired by either Dali or Rene Magritte. There are a few others (like Max Ernst), and if you would like to see them all, at the end if you click the text "Ceux-la n'etaient pas des Tire-Buchons" you can view a gallery of all the paintings that were referenced in the Flash.

I wish I knew how to do that back in 12th grade. You nailed surrealism. It was like a dream after smoking a fistful of opium. Keep up the good work and consider Art as a major in college.

Ahaa ya I'm glad I can make this now. I kind of had to struggle through the photoshopping of the images process 'cause I'm not familiar with Photoshop, but I know Flash well.
Heh I figured it was kind of easy to nail surrealism when I'm just trying to piece together a bunch of already surreal paintings... but I'm pretty proud of coming up with the idea of doing that, I suppose.

Adventures in the Subconscious
Half tidy. It makes a welcome change to the shitty flashes I have been blamming for the past 30 minutes.
I would like to see more in the same style - maybe you could throw in some of the elephants from Dali's temptation of st anthony, that would be cool. Or have a war between dali's melting clock crew and the burning giraffes.

I agree about the half tidiness.
It had a due date, so I crammed. Hehehe. Of course I could have made it better after the due date, just for my own enjoyment... but that would have been more work then I would be willing to put in at the moment.
I tried to make the corkscrew that collapses and falls at the end look like Dali's Tall Elephants... I think it SORTA does... but ya. Very vague.
I've always wanted to animate surreal paintings... and the burning giraffes ARE cool....... maybe. Could be very difficult to do that well though...
