Reviews for "Area 51 - Beginning"

Sluggish, but Satisfactory

The entire film moved at a snail's pace, which is my biggest gripe. I do understand that this is a horror film, and slowing things down in a dark environment can really add suspense and anxiety. However, what you have here is called "overkill," especially in the first several scenes where you show static images of the desert. Completely unnecessary. Each one of those should have only lasted a few seconds, not 20.

BUT, you managed to demonstrate PERFECT timing in two scenes. The first would be the scene when the alien opens his eyes. You left his eyes closed just long enough for us to start second-guessing ourselves, sort of like: "oh yup, the alien's about to open his eyes ... wait, is he? ... OH SHIT!" That was fantastic, because it really added a little shock to the moment (especially since the eyes were drawn so well). Even better was the last scene of the movie, where we got a first-person of the guard in the facility. Again, you dragged it out just long enough for us to think, "well, maybe something isn't gonna happen just yet" and then WHAM! Crazed mutant guy drops from the ceiling with a shrill growl and glowing eyes. Excellent.

Overall, this flash was definitely good, but the horrid pacing substantially detracted from its quality. This could have easily been an 8 or 9, but simply put, I was bored more often than scared. Nonetheless, the graphics were outstanding, and the animation certainly had that B movie vibe. Good work.

Niceee

Other than the spelling errors, (which make a difference in the overall quality of a film - seriously!) I really enjoyed this. Maybe a little bit more dramatic music would help the overall ambiance of this piece. Good luck in the future and hope to see a sequel!

Good concept, but it needs work.

I like the idea. An alien held at Area 51 carries a disease that turns people into zombies. Maybe it is bioengineered as an attack on mankind. I hope you make a sequel.

Constructive Criticism
1. Work on your spelling. It is very hard to take a movie seriously when it is filled with obvious misspellings.
2. Shorten the cut scenes. It was boring when, for instance, we were looking at the sign for so long.
3. Work on your animation skills. The animation was fair, but it could have been better. Focus on improving your human figures.

Overall, I thought that it was a good movie, as evidenced by the score I gave it. Just work a little harder on the next one.

I dont like the artwork

and omg there is one scene were it took fucking forever its were its in a hall way with the light coming from the cieling I waited like for a complete minuete staring a that picture I got so frustrated I went back to the menu and skipped to the next scene and your animaiton was too slow I struggled to watch all I did I was just wanting someting more faster paced for an area 51 video, most likely there would be an alarm if an alien did escape, and area 51 isnt that run down I am pretty sure since its a "secret" goverment facility they keep it all in working order, but thats my take on it

Got bored.

Got bored and turned it off. I was waiting like for ages for anything to happen. The art wasnt good enough to hold my interest and either was music. I presume Alien gets out and spreads desease. I could be wrong. Work on grabbing the viewers attention. Sorry.
