This is OK
The graphics are sprites, the animation's not bad, and the code works, but it looks like you took shortcuts. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what he does is only based on what you do isn't it? Not much of a battle if you choose what you AND him do each time.

I gave it a 3 on the voting, and you're getting 5 stars. It lingered on too long. However, it was fun.
Needs Work
1) Learn how to do SFX. It needs them.
2) Balance issues need to be worked out. Like, you can use your most powerfull attack every turn until he is dead. The player needs motivation to choose a variety of attacks. Items would be nice too.
3) Needs some sort of original twist to keep it from getting repettitve and boring. EX: Paper mario has action commands.
4) The boss seems to only use one attack over and over.
Overall, you have a good start. If you added everything above, I would give it a 9. If you made many differnt bosses, It would deserve a 10. If you turned it into a full RPG, that would be very cool.
