Guitar Battle
-This is a great idea and all but it left a lot on the table. There were alot of things wrong animation & design wise. The clear use of many gradients was one, reusing of many symbols and line quality was my biggest problems with the design. From a animation stand point there wasn't a ton and most of it was ok, there was alot of camera movements to make up for actual animation. Also was every animation I did see it either look Rotoscoped or missing a few poses (All the walks). It does take less time to make it in this way but adding those extra frames of animation cleans everything up and makes it look a lot less rough around the edges.
-Don't know if you edited it while animating or after, but at any rate it was nice and the beginning with all the cut in worked very well. Also all the the close up on the guitar playing was very nice, and seemed to be synced well. I don't know if you play and were able to sync it that way or you just took a random guess, either way it worked. Also despite the lack of dialog you were able to tell a pretty good story, and you were able to even give it a moral at the end which was nice. Having some sort of point to an animation makes it so much better than if it was just some random guitar battle that made no sense.
-Now what I would like to see with the project if you chose to rework it. Shorten it, it got alittle long, and was rather tedious to come back to more of the same. If it was just the two battling with a little back story would have been better then the killing him off and he get revived part. Take out the dialog between his band mates didn't know who they were and their dialog, just work with expressions on the two. Lastly more angles on the battle the guitar playing seemed to have only three angles however most battles are crazy and jarring would have been nice to see many different angles.
