Lives up to its name, brilliantly
Take a simple concept exploring pattern recognition and you get Unique
Not only was this flash game beautifully styled and drawn in a minimalist black and what design, but it ran so deftly smooth. The UI radiated taste and that was before the game had even commenced.
Within we found a central pattern which was then surrounded with the same icons, well all but one. Simply identify the one in the quickest time possible. Simple to start, growing more complex in pattern design, then streams of repeating colours. This was then followed by the outer icons spinning around its center. The colours changing may i add had just the right timing and transitioned so very well.
All of this was set to a very suited track that was thoughtful and unintrusive.
Being able to play a brain stimulating game is one thing, to do it in the style Unique sets was something quite special. Its a quick, well collected 50 rounds of fun. It did what it set out to do, and in my mind didn't skip a beat. While i always thought of myself only giving a 10 out to something that truly was an epic detailed masterpiece of sight and sound, Unique has given me another criteria. At least in a game, technical aspects aren't the final word. Meeting your target in a fun, seemingly flawless way also merits such praise. Thank you for this great little test.
