Epic abound.
Wow...
That's the first thing I said to myself after the girlish squeals of delight from seeing this precursor to the main event, the final fight, the sad thought that this acctually has to end at some point (*sniffle sniffle*). But what an end it'll be if it's as good (hopefully even better) as this installment. Bang on with action, bang on with story, bang on with dialogue; just a well thought out and magnificent addition to the serise.
The normal cudos go to your style of drawing. Very detailed and with a style that compliments the style nicely. The movements are as realistic as ever and the effects are simply breath taking. However, there is one thing I would like to note: the animation looked a lot smoother than your other works. It skipped in less places and overall had a better flow to it. I'm glad to see the improvement as it adds to the project overall.
The story is...wow! Again, it was the only thing I can use to describe how much I love where this is going. I had a hunch, deep down inside, of the magical potency of a certain someone (spoilers aren't fun, right?), but at the same time was totally caught off guard. I thought it was a nice twist. Of course, what would this revelation be without the evil side having their own warlock of destruction! Kinda cheesy name for the demons (Demonsaurus? Com'on...) but what they bring to the table is one basass villain that seems all the more terrifying with flying raptors made of shadows at his disposal.
As for the negative, I really can't see anything glaring. In fact, I feel I have to go to bat for you against some of the claims that are posted below my comments. Being a bit of a fanboy of the serise by now, I suppose it's my duty...
Magic has always been a part of the universe of Primal Wars. Since #4, we've seen a pterodactyle shaman, a dinosorceress, scrying by most of the powerful characters, the psychokinesis of a certain individual in this installment, as well as the demonic magics of another individual in this episode. To say it's "getting out of hand" by pointing out they can now deflect arrows, fly and explode a single mind is a poor argument, espcially since said character was having a heroic moment. If anything, you need to go back and watch episode #4 before you make any judgements about your opinion on this serise.
If you think a few psychokinetic powers are ruining the serise, then hovering on a cloud, splitting the earth in two, disintegrating swords and sundering mountains with lightning are God damn balsphamy! Magic is a powerful tool in this universe and it has existed almost as long as the serise has. Not everyone can use it, which is why you don't see it very much, but that also doesn't mean it isn't still there. It just looks more impressive when someone comes to center stage and goes "I can blow up your mind!" if only a handful of characters can do that sort of thing. To say it's "going the way of DBZ" is just an insult to the author of this submission and shows how much you pay attention to the acctual serise, to the point where your opinion is uninformed and can easily be overlooked. To see a work of art that has great story, amazing battles AND can use magic to such a devestating degree without having the users being any more effective than our hero and his companions is a testiment to how well thought out this all is.
In any case, I think the submission was indeed your best work to date and I'm salivating over thinking about what's possibly going to happen next. Thumbs up as always from a loyal supporter!
