Reviews for "The Creation of High Art"

nice.

I totally agree. Right now I'm in a College of Art at a state school. And considering moving to a real art school. It's silly some of the things that come out of this place that are considered great. Just because the canvas is taller than u, and the colors look like u are on acid, doesn't mean it's highart. haha. I loved the NERV reference. You rock.

Smack right on the right direction

The art work and narration were well orchestrated and it was simple and sweet. I was glad somebody took a stab at what is and is not art issue. To me, if one likes it or not does not make it art or not, art is underappreciated in many areas of society. How many people call video games art or even flash animation.

The world is full of art and nobody should have the right to demean ones are over others.

Truly inciteful but to be honest I don't pay attention to high art.. or 'mainstream' art heh, the fat cat as you portrayed in the video kinda fill's me with hatred considering as a middle class citizen we are controlled subliminally or sometimes directly by these people who heavily influence what real inspiration is today. I hate the term art for art's sake I mean all art today is a heavily financed trade, and the art like the artist is nothing more than merchandise, I agree with all that has been said ^_^

Antidisestablishmentarianism

That's what this is a case of in some form or another. That said, it raises good points that our modern sense of aesthetics within the art community seems very oddly skewed towards authority.

While at the same time it seems to be "bucking the trend" through the continuing modern art movement. Ultimately though, as is brought up in the movie, it's up to you, the viewer to decide what's liked. So go for it!

Sounds like a commie bastard wrote this!!!

lol. I'm kidding. I enjoyed this quite a bit, and it was very insightful. Your grasp of the sociological reasoning behind this subject can be related to more than the art museums. For example, look at the "are video games art?" debate, and you'll see that this has had a strong effect on an aspect that a lot of us can relate to much more directly.
