Reviews for "The Rise of a Knight"

The game was pretty good, something that would have been useful would be potions and extra lives, so when you died you could just respawn in that same spot instead of running all the way back from the beginning of the section

SeethingSwarm responds:

Glad you liked it :)
I still have to work on picking up items and respawning as well as things like upgrades. I simply have never made anything like that before. I'll try to put things like that into future games... I think they would be cool as well :)
Thanks for the review!

there maybe could have been more attacks and more wepons.

but its an overal good game

SeethingSwarm responds:

Thanks, glad you liked!
Wait for the sequel...

Its pretty good but it doesnt quite have enough variety as far as things like weapons go.

SeethingSwarm responds:

Thanks for the review!
Yup, only one sword. I agree that upgrades would have made this game much more fun, but I was pressured by time and filesize. Glad you liked!

i got to the boss with low health , and died in 2 shots...
so heal would be better? oO

SeethingSwarm responds:

Yeah health potions might have been a plus rather than regenerating health, but the problem is I didnt make an inventory system. I wasnt sure if my coding skills could handle it, and I didnt want this game to become much more complex anyway. It is a good idea though, and I hope you try this game again at least once. Its a shame you died at one of the bosses, which one?

Thanks for the review! Much appreciated!

One Question...

If you left it open for a sequel, why haven't I seen one made? I'd love to play it, and this one wouldn't do too well as a single game. And if you're making the sequel, how about a preview of the story? Just a short summery of what it'll be about...

SeethingSwarm responds:

The sequel will be ready in less than a month. Maybe two weeks, but probably closer to three. It will be much more of a role playing game. Much deeper and with many upgrades such as swords, shields, armor and spells. The combat will still be in real time and the action is still there. The story will continue where The Rise of a Knight ended. If you have not finnished The Rise of a Knight, there will be a "Story So Far" section in the sequel where you can watch a quick slideshow of exactly what happened in The Rise of a Knight.

There are many screenshots and more info about the sequel on my userpage.

I dont want to give out the name of the sequel before its release, but if you think about it, the name might come to you...
