Good
I thought it was a lot like Sid Meier's pirates. First do more research. There were like no French towns. Anyway more ships at sea would be nice and during the battles it would be great IF THERE WERE NO CLOUDS. IT really started to piss me off when I couldn't see my or the enemy ship.

Although there still seem to be a lot of bugs in it.
For example, the year counter goes bananas after 31 Dec 1600..
Also, chain shots don't work on enemies, but their chains do work on you.
It's also very annoying to go look for enemy ships in the battle screen, after you've been crippled by chain shots. It was a good idea not including a mini map to add some sort of challenge, but its a VERY BAD IDEA combined with chain shots..
Other than that, great game! 8/10

its pretty cool
It could be better if you could keep the type of cannon you have when you take over an enemy ship and i think madjokemikes idea is pretty cool. there should also be types of crewman or mercenaries like asian pikemen and crossbowmen or british redcoat musketeers and native amercians and its also cool madjokemikes idea for other ships to aid you in battle like spanish privateers or british frigates and french galleons. and more types of ammo to buy such as sharpenal shells or 10,12,14,16,or 18 shot explosive canister round shot, spark shot, spike shot, and other's you can think of. and add more nations like Germany, Russia, Australia, India nad more. and more types of ships like chinese junks caravels for fast moving and ramming with a large crew and heavy war frigates but they move slow , moniters, large large sail ships with long range mortors attatched to the side. and another thing is when you go to a ship yard you should be able to upgrade you ships cannons, capacity, damage, speed, hull, and reloading speed cause this will be a lot more helpful. i hope there is a second one
