I'd prefer to see pictures

This is a good tutorial, where you've explained everything you need concisely and correctly. What I think you need to give us is a few diagrams or screenshots of the program, to show us exactly what you are getting at with the directions.

Then we come to the directions. They are concise, as I've already mentioned. The problem is that the font is a little difficult to read and we could do with putting more breaks in the text, as it strains the eyes. This may be countered by the fact that when people are actually using it, they may only use it for reference as they are making the preloader. This is probably the intention of the flash, but certainly making either the text bigger or chaning the font would be beneficial.

The layout of this to start with is pretty poor, the text isn't in the most readable font, try something simple and don't use a background with an image, all the circles are fine but don't use an image. The wording is also quite hard to understand, I have made three diffrent kinds of preloaders in the past and I could not see where this was going, it's hard to picture and hard to carry out.

You need to have clear instructions on this, what you have written sounds very rushed and seems to lack any reason, you have put more time in the looks and the audio than the actual tutorial. The audio is fine, but I don't see the need for three songs, one song and a mute button would be fine, concentrate on the tutorial next time.

Contrary to your comment, I worked equally as hard on the tutorial in general than the image. I wanted to add my own style and my tutorial is not the first tutorial to have 3 songs on it. I have good sight, so the text didn't bother me, and I didn't think that it'll bother others. You have gravely misunderstood the concept, intentions and otherwise point of the flash. But you are intitled to youropinion and I respect and acknowledge that.

Useful

As tutorials go this was very good, only some major flaws let it down.

The main problem I have with this lesson, is the fact it's extremely hard to read the writting within it. The font you used, along with the size, makes it very hard to read.

The content itself is quite good, but nothing new. If someone took there time to sit and read through all of this and concentrate they'd learn quite alot. Which is a testament to you.

I loved your own personal menu, layout and music. Very unique way to do things, which made at least the back bone of the movie quite easy on the eye.

Overall a decent tutorial, let down just by the fact of the font. A vet good effort though, hope it can be improved

A good tutorial

It's a usefull tutorial, lots of flashes still don't have pre-loaders on it and it's hard to know if they're loading and how many it's loaded. I don't have Flash, but if I get I already know how to do at least one thing. =) I liked the songs too, It's always good when you can choose diferent songs on a game or, in this case, a tutorial. Still...

Some ports were a bit hard to read, mostly because of the size of the letter. Maybye you can make it a bit bigger next time, specially during the explanation. Also, white letter in a blue background make it even harder to read, change the background colour next time to a darker colour, it'll be easier to read.

The second song on this tutorial (Sonic 3 - BossBattle METALIZED) had a way higher volume than the other two songs. I don't know if the song is like that, but adjust its volume like the other songs.

Overall, a good and usefull tutorial, but it needs a few improvements. To make you happy, I sugested it to the Flash Tutorials collections, I hope it gets there!

Alright

This tutorial was alright. I tryed to make a preloader while reading this but didn't suceed. The information and everything was good and I liked how you explained all the AS instead of just telling us to copy paste it.

-Bad-
Well, I thought the text was to small and was hard to read. I also didn't like how the tutorial had a sonic backround on some frames, and then changed to a black background.

Well, I don't quite understand how you failed to make the preloader if you folloewed my directions, but people think differently, it'll work for some, but not for all. I appreciate your appreication of me explaining the Action Script.

Some others thought the text was too small and I noted it. The reason I switch to a black background was so you would be able to see the Action Script--unchanged, easily.
