Reviews for "-Gunslinger-"

Truly, one of a kind

This is beautiful, I honestly have never heard a western inspired song on Newgrounds, this totally blew me away, and I absolutely love the way you made it in a totally contemporary way.

The one thing I don't feel sounds right is the acoustic guitar, it doesn't sound real, I'm not sure if it's an effect you used or if you created it in a program.

ChronoNomad responds:

Disclaimer: No guitars were harmed in the making of this musical production.

They're just digital instrument samples, so I do the best I can. Of course anyone could debate how 'real' a digital sound sample is since it came from an actual guitar at one point. It all depends on what you constitute as being real, I suppose. Sadly I don't own a guitar, but I do possess knowledge of guitar chords and progression...so that helps.

Thanks for the review, and I'm glad that you like it! I must admit, I've never really heard anything else like this on NG either. It clearly has an audience, so I'm happy! :)

Heroic!

As I was listening, I kinda got a lone hero on his horse connotation from the instruments used, and I love it! Its not easy changing emotion using this form of music, but I really liked the changes of tone in the song, like from the beginning, fast paced stuff, to the slow more somber middle near 2:12. You sir, have created something great here today, thank you.

ChronoNomad responds:

Thank you for saying so! I enjoy the 'lone gunslinger' aspect of this composition a lot myself. The piano part almost wrote itself it flowed so easily. I strive to create great music, and although I love doing remixes and covers, it's my original work that seems to draw the most attention. That's a good thing in my book.

I'm glad that you like it, and thanks for the great review.

Awesome despite the genre!

I'd like to hear this in a submission of some sort! I think it would sound good in a submission like Cactus McCoy... which was an awesome game! I'm thinking I'm gonna download this track actually, we started running an old west campaign setting in D&D and I think this would be dope to play at the table. Thanks again guy, oh and I dig the in character response to Taz9010! 5/5 Downlizzle

ChronoNomad responds:

We're gonna hit the ol' saloon and get you a round of yer choice too, buckaroo! It was a blast to make this, and in a way it was kind of inspired by Stephen King's gunslinger from the Dark Tower series, too. Thanks for reviewing something different. It was a pretty big departure from my normal stuff.

Yeah, I loved Cactus McCoy, as well. That game was off the hook, yo! It would be very cool to have my music in a game like that. Speaking of which, there are some games that will be coming out in the not-so-distant future that will feature some of my tracks. Keep an eye out! :D

Brilliant

It's perfect. Brilliant. I love it. It sounds just like what you'd hear in an actiony shootout, with a bit more action added in. So you basically went a bit ABOVE Clint Eastwood with this. For that, you get:

5/5

10/10.

ChronoNomad responds:

Well, awright! Thank you kindly for the amazing review, pard. To show my appreciation, I'm gonna buy you a drink at the next town. What'll ya have?
