Reviews for "Love Adventure"

Nice production!

It just goes to show that you don't have to use the newest graphics to effective tell a story. This was very effective use of 4-bit graphics integrated with the music. It would have been nice to have this kind of music when I had my Atari 2600 back in the day :). Excellent job!

Emptygoddess responds:

Effectively tell a story? huh...

*watches it again*

Nope. Not seeing it.

Ooh, Atari flashback!

That was one of the best 4-bit stick-figure flashes I've ever seen. Nice character profiles too. I'm stumped on what it's based on, though. And BTW, don't stomp on your own work. If you tell people it's doody...well, who are we to argue with the creator of the work? Leave out the self-deprecating blurb in the trivia window, and your work goes from good to great. Good job.

Emptygoddess responds:

I can call whatever I want doody. If I want to call doody doody, I can call doody doody. If I want to call Shakespeare doody, I can call Shakespeare doody! (Shakespeare... YOUR WORK IS DOODY!)

Hey, nice concept.

The graphics didn´t progressed much since the times of 2600, but the sound did really improved a lot, don´t you think so? ( ;D )
Anyway, it´s a little funny seeing stick figures mixed with anime-like portraits... Especially in the close-ups. The main character is a stick figure... pining for an anime girl... It´s like if the styles didn´t match very well...

And for the show you´ve been inspirated... No idea. It could be Hokuto no Ken, but there´s lots of similar opening sequences like that... Please tell me when the contest is over, I´m really curious.

Overall, a really nice movie. I liked it very much.

P.S: I recognized the dragon. I´ve been playing a Mega Drive/Genesis emu lately, you know... But anyway, I loved the style of the 80´s japanese videogames and I wouldn´t have forgotten that menu screen...

Emptygoddess responds:

That's because wonder boy in monster world (for the sega genesis not the master system (either one) is one of the grandest and most spectacular games ever crafted by man or beast.

Wow.

That was even better than the last cartoon I watched.

Emptygoddess responds:

If the last cartoon you watched was the greatest cartoon ever... that is high praise my friend.

Amazing use of ancient graphics

Wow. That is really a wonderful video. The graphics aren't your standard "ten" graphics, but that's actually what makes it so good. If this were done with "next gen" graphics, I don't think it would work. This reminds me both of playing Donkey Kong JR on my 2600 as a kid, so many animated intros, and how much it rocked to see them in concert. All my fives, truly are belong to this.

Emptygoddess responds:

Yet it you gave it a ten. Which is it? All your fives are belong or all your tens? You make no sense.
