I just had to review this since you said you were surprised that I hadn't yet. This is definitely my favourite of all your original compositions (with 'Pieces' in a VERY close 2nd). I don't think it could get much better than this. :)

Hey, thanks! You're the first candidate on my list, btw. I think you should just go ahead and crank out some vocals! I'd be more than happy to add them in and see how it sounds. The notes are being covered by the melody line currently, and if you have a copy of the poem on-hand you've got the words, too. I can always remove the current melody line and replace it with vocals.
We can make the lyrical version a collaboration...what do you say? I'd love to hear how you would sing the words, anyway. We can make any changes along the way if any need to be made. Consider the gauntlet thrown down! :D
