I honestly have to said I liked this song. I've never heard of the kanon series, but if you've ever played a Japanese RPG (i.e. FF series) this could've been right in there. You should take that as a compliment btw, since the FF series has imho the best music composition when it comes to games.
I have to admit it is quite slow, and the intro part might've been a bit shorter, but that's just personal taste.
Overall very nice piece of work keep it up.
Kanon...
I'm a bit worried to watch Kanon. After reading Planatarian, Air and watching Angel Beats, key endings are always so sad and predictably so.
...Anyway, that aside, this sounds like a perfect ending to Kanon. Sad.
Kanon has possibly the most cheerful ending of any Key series. Angel Beats had some sort of happy ending too, eventually, as did Clannad.
That said, it's not that it's not emotional. It is.

I like the swaying rhythmical pattern. but it never hits that BAM moment. its always a bland normal tone. very slow, but thats it... slow.
It's intentionally slow. Did you listen all the way through? The tone picks up a lot in the last 2 minutes.
Also, not all music needs a BAM moment. It depends on the mood one is attempting to capture.
Totally Amazing
Only way I can think of describing this is by saying its "Tear Inducing, Utterly Amazing, and Heart Filling". I would have to say this definitly should be put in some games OST or something causes its that good. :P

Kanon is also one of my favorite anime as well, i remember waiting for all the dvd's to come out and having to wait for funimation to make the last one, since ADV went down the toilet. I can see where your coming from with this. Loved this song, you managed to make your own beautiful OP or Ending. Couldn't really pick anything bad apart from it, very well done :)
