Reviews for "Into The Eclipse"

MEOW

"I hear NG raping quality."

Some of the pads seem to float for a little too long at times in certain frequencies, I don't notice anything sounding bad, nice, soft, and slow, although a few are "too" slow, there's a mystical balance between heavy and soft, slowly pulsating, at times it seems to be almost too much but then it backs down again, there's a few things here and there to reward replayability, almost hiddenesque effects deep in the sound, The effect that comes in at 4:12 is a little harsh, a little crackley, my ears didn't take this too well with the atmosphere which is being presented (but the bottle popping sure is, nicely done), At 5:00 it shifts into what seems to be a darker side, I'm having a little bit of trouble identifying what it is, but nonetheless, for now, it works, It all comes back again and peaceful, blissful, whatever you wish to use, when I first heard the little synth at 6:30, I didn't think it would fit, but then it does if you just let it wrap around you, the breathing sound is a little strange, I would imagine slower, softer breaths to be more fitting.

And then the end, everything seems to blow up all the sudden, there was still momentum, still a strong atmosphere to work with, and it's gone, I don't understand the sudden loss of the breathing, it was only there for a short amount of time, then it stops, and it all comes crashing down, the atmosphere, the trance, the ephereal feel of an aura of frequencies, gone.

I personally think that the "slow" is perfect. I don't think that anything in this song is to slow, in fact notes don't drag on for more than a few seconds. There is a lot changing in this song in the background and in the foreground to create a constant, slow movement of sound. The ending is suppose to end like that, because it just gives this feeling of death, in my opinion. Every euphoric feeling should vanish at the end, but leave behind a trace in your brain that will keep you thinking about what the song really does mean.

Basically, you don't like the song because of how the sounds are being presented, and it all confused you. The frequencies are fine, in my opinion, because they offer a nice, constant feel to the song. Thanks for the review. :)

Strange feeling

Up until 0:32 I just feel like I am on a train alone going nowhere. Then the soft dark feeling starts coming and makes me feel like I am playing Resident Evil, Half Life, or Doom and I see bodies everywhere as things feed on them. I get off the train and pick up the nearest weapons which for me is a baseball bat and a small handgun.

I make my way to the nearest safe place I can which would probably be a small house and get on the roof connecting the rooftops. I sit there for days trying to figure out what to do next as they take over the city.

The slight breathing sounds I hear make me think of Giygas though.

As I continue sitting there I figure there's nothing left to do but pack up and roam the states alone trying to survive. Eating what food is left in stores and trying to keep away from the zombies and other infected creatures.

I soon stumble into a large police station that seems abandoned. I pick up what weapons I can and barricade myself in for a few more days trying to get ready to move again.

Overall, a very dark and hopeless feeling song. Very nice and brilliant work on this, looking forward to some more in the future.

Thanks for the imagery comments! I do hope to compose music for game one of these days, and I really think it would be a fun thing to do. :)

Quite Excellent

hey FatKidWitAJetPak,

--Production--
Stellar. The voices fit well and the ambience of the airplane adds depth. You meld sounds together to form an atmosphere that is deep and meaningful. There is a good balance of frequencies here.

--Listenability--
Good ambient listening. This is nice and soothing music that just flows along without a sign of stopping. It's 8 minutes long, and only by 7 minutes does it seem to feel a drag. But that's a great achievement.

--Genius--
I'm not sure what you mean by "most complicated", because I'm not an expert in this genre, but this is quite unique. You were right in that it spaced me out, but sometimes I didn't like what I heard, and I came out of the daze. But then I went back again :)

--Flair--
There is a nice feel to this, but I would have liked to hear some recurring motif here to remember this song by. There needs to be that memorable quality that I so admire in a song. I'm not sure about ambient music having this traditionally, but it's something that I would like to see.

--Tilt--
This is good ambient music that spaces you out. I mean, I didn't feel out of this world, but I felt very peaceful inside. Sometimes it can get monotonous, but I guess that's just one of the cons of the genre. It's also due to the fact I have a low attention span. But I was patient. Thanks for letting me listen!

--Production-- = 17/20
--Listenability-- = 15/20
--Genius-- = 14/20
--Flair-- = 14/20
--Tilt-- = 15/20
OVERALL SCORE: 75/100
VERDICT: Quite Excellent! [A-]

The one thing I really should work on is combining addicting tunes into the atmosphere that I have created. I need to add some sort of repeating beat / note structure. Thanks for the review :)

Wow, this is amazing.

Very metititative song to relax to not to mention has a bit of a Mario Galaxy kind of feel. Nice job!

The fat kid with another top five =).

Opening has a very spooky feel for sure. Its good to see your still making music for sure. This would be a great background sound for something like a scary part of a movie or something along those lines. Great work for creating atmosphere on this!

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

I still have a lot to improve upon, such as the actual listenability of this song. It doesn't have much "harmony" in it, unlike my last ambient song "Breathe With Me". If I can combine the two, then I should be able to make a great song.
