It was pretty simple, but I still had a lot of fun playing it.

Pretty good for your first game. I know how hard it is to make a working game...I can't do actionscript to save my life, lol, so you did a damn good job. No glitches that I noticed.
Review score breakdown:
Graphics: 7. Simple, but sufficient. The graphics weren't jerky, the animation was smooth...pretty good.
Style: 8. Despite being a relatively simple game, it was still fun to play. The multiple weapons and overheat meter were a nice touch. The hit detection was very accurate as well. Very nice.
Sound: 0. Add some sound, man! :-P
Violence: 5. Explosions and such. No blood or gore or whatnot. I don't really know why violence is a review category, not like it's always a good/bad thing, lol. But yes, in this case, lasers and missiles and explosions were a win.
Interactivity: 8. Multiple weapons, overheat meter for the lasers, and the fact that this is a fully functional game make you get high marks in this category.
Humor: 0. It's a shooter game, no room for humor here, lol.
Overall: 8. Very nice for your first game. No noticeable glitches, good hit detection, modest graphics...congratulations on a great first try. :-D
Ways to improve: SOUND, lol. That's the only thing this lacks. A good shooter needs awesome SFX/background music as much as it needs weapons, heh.
I hope to see more from you in the future, and I'm sure you'll improve as you keep practicing. Your good try earns a fifen from me, good sir. ^_^
Simple and Addictive
Yeah, keeps me coming back for more. however, it would have been nice to see some better enemy graphics, but as simple as it is, its still awesome. Keep up the good work.

I really like that the laser overheated if you used it too much, which I think drops some of the 'mindless shooter' elements from it. I don't have any problem with the ships being simple shapes. But this game really does need sound, badly. I don't think it's fair to have such cool looking graphics and leaves us deaf to what has to be cool sounding...sounds.
