Amazing.

Wow, great work there buddy, that's one of the most advanced flash app. I've seen in a long time. That's a nice and intresting contribution to the community.

Thank you.

Starburst997 responds:

Thank you XD

Nice app

"App" flashes are rare on Newgrounds, but I always appreciate seeing a good one. This one's especially thorough, I'm impressed.

Have you considered taking the MOD-playing core and releasing it as an AS library? A lot of people could really make use of a simple MOD-player in their games.

Starburst997 responds:

Well, I will not release this library because it is poorly commented and coded. That's why I want to wait a few weeks to rewrite it completely and add support for .XM, .IT and .S3M.

Thanks for the review :D

how did you get the samples to load?

I've done an emulator in Flash myself, and what limited for a long time was the gfx capabilities (fixed in Flash8 with BitmapData).
I reckon you have been faced with a similar problem but for sound...
How did you get the samples to load? how do you change the sample properties (i.e. pitch)? Does AS3 support load of binary data, and has better manipulation abilities?
Anyways, great work on this, bravo!

Starburst997 responds:

You will be able to see everything in a few weeks when I will release the library with support for .XM, .IT and .S3M :D

As for loading sound in flash 9, it is a bit tricky. Adobe release what it called ByteArray but you cannot simply load sound from it. What you can do however is load a SWF from that ByteArray, so to load a sound you created, you create a SWF with your sound playing in it. :)

I know my English is bad but I hope you understand what I meant ._.'

Thanks for the review !

Awesome...

..and great attention to the menu details. Damn good work. Love this.

Starburst997 responds:

WOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTT !!!!!!!

Thanks a lot :)

Amazing!

I'm pretty astonished that such a complex flash application has been created... and very glad I stumbled upon it! I've been listening to MOD music for a couple years now, and I recognize some of my favourites in there. Please don't ban me for this, but for anyone who'd like to hear more of this kind of music, I recommend nectarine radio. Search for it on google.
