Hope where there is no hope..
Imagine it.
You wake up one night and find yourself on your bed, but you see absolutely nothing that is around you, except your bedd and a bit of rock under it. You hear silent noises echoing around you, you cant locate where the noise is coming from. It seems to come from all around you. The noises slowly seem to become louder, as if what ever is there is coming closer..
You carefully stand up from the bed and you notice you are wearing your regular, everyday clothes. At your feet there is a small golden badge that shines a small, warm light like a candle in the center of nothingness. You pick up the badge and wear it on the spot here your heart is on your chest, and with no protection but that you start taking steps forward.
As you go, your bed vanishes into the darkness behind you. You feel scared, alone.. You think you just saw something move in the darkness. The sound echoes change towards the more hungrier, hellish, deadlier kind. You pick up pace as you walk aimlessly through the darkness, with nothing else to rely on than the little badge you found.
After a while of wandering in the empty space, you start feeling that you are doomed to die in this wretched plane. Just as you are about to rip the badge off your chest, you see another small light in the distance, like a single star in the middle of nothing. It's right infront of you, and you start run faster than you ever could.
As your running feet slam onto the stone ground, something cracks under you. A moment later you find yourself falling into the abyss, and you lose hope. You think you are about to die, but then the badge on your chest flashes brightly. It flashes so brightly it almost blinds you for a moment, and before you even realize it, you are flying. The small badge gave you wings, and with the renewed spirit you fly towards the light. The monstrous sound echoes slowly quiet down untill they vanish entirely.
You are now safe. As you finally reach for the light source, you see nothing but white. A few seconds pass, you hear peopple talking. Its your family, and a few unknown voices. Soon your vision finally returns and you find yourself lying down on a hospital bed.
In reality, you had just awoken from a nightmare that left you in a coma for a day, and those noises you heard in the darkness were the nightmares twisted versions of your family and doctors talking about your situation. Now that you think about it, you can still faintly hear the same noises even though you are perfectly awake.
As you sit up on the bed and look at the door that leads into the hospital corridors, you see a shadowy figure flashing by...

I really love this piece and it is really amazingly done. It really fits the title in being space like and outer worldly. The intro gives a lonely feel and the haunting beat gives out of this world contact sound. Through out the song the melody is simple, but is very catchy and the underlying piano tones were a great mix. It really gives more of an adventure in space among the stars feel rather than a cold and loneliness ambient feel as the intro might suggest.
Overall a great piece that I have listen to for hours on end and I'm sure that it fits well in FBF III. Great work!
