It was probably the fact that the voice was obviously male, and to me, it had a bit of a swedish accent to it that just made it priceless.
Personally, I think that the characters should be drawn in the same style. It bugged me that the girl was so detailed and the boy just looked like an after thought. It's not like they moved that much, you could put in a little more effort in him.

yeah yeah yeah.... bugs me too but i didn't feel like spending time anymore time than needed on a school project.... (I just used the characters from 2 of my other cartoons)

That was not much, but it was something. I didn't know what to think of it first, but the ending made me smile. The girl was drawn neatly, though the voice was obviously male. I liked the drawings though, so keep it up, with more sence next time ;)
