Nice but needs a little tweak up
A cool game and an entertaining concept, but both weapons and engines need a heavy rebalancing. For example, when you turbo thrust forward the homing missiles follow you like you weren't moving, just like other missile weapons, which makes boosting 100% useless, plus you become an easy target.
I just had to brake all the time and take them out systematically when there were few of them and rush in for a lucky shot when there were many. I'd like it to be a little less dependent from luck.
The way fighters moved still felt quite realistical and for that i would suggest a visual from the behind of the plane, like "Lylat Wars" (nintendo 64). You would be still able to work in a 2D battlefield, keep the acceleration-brakes action and also include the importance of altitude of the plane.
