Reviews for "Snakes on a Plane-TRAILER"

Ehhhh

I will not pull punches on this one. I found this to be mediocre at best. It was not a bad attempt, but I really hope the creator has better in store for the future. The voice actor for Samuel L. kept slipping in and out of accent. Sometimes he sounded good, other times he just sounded like an everyday guy, and sometimes he sounded kind of like a redneck.

The pacing was not great either. The gags needed to be faster paced.

Oh, and to everyone who wonders about where the creators of "SoaP" got the concept....

"Snakes on a plane" is a film industry term that has been around for a while. It is used to refer to a disaster movie which has an incredibly improbable plot. "Oh, a volcano erupts in Los Angeles? Just what we need, another snakes on a plane film."

So some guys out in Hollywood decided, "Hey! Let's actually make a movie about snakes on a plane!"

True, not brilliant, but neither was this 'toon.

CakeBread responds:

SLJ's bad voice may have had something to do with the fact that a few adolescent guys tried to mimic one of the most distinctive voices in Hollywood using a shitty microphone and primitive recording technology. Considering the circumstances, the voice that he is graced with in this movie should be considered an artful masterpiece.

Nice.

Funny and captures the essence of SoaP. Which pretty much snakes on a plane. Keep up the work!

Where to begin

Well, I have two sincere complaints/suggestions.

Firstly. a lot of these jokes were stolen off of other shows. Such as Family guy. You know which ones were stolen. And yes, people will spot it.

Secondly, you were trying FAR to hard to be funny. and most of it wasn`t. At all. It was a very egotistical spin on jokes- You think you`re funny and assume others will to. Well, anyone who can spot this won`t.

I do congratulate you on an original sense of style with your animation however. It was nice to see. And the voice acting was done quite well, which is generally hard. Just.. think your script through a bit more next time.

CakeBread responds:

Look, I'm going to be perfectly honest with you here: I had no intentions of ever ripping of Family Guy, or anything else for that matter. I have a sense of humor that falls very much in line with the show, but I never knowingly took any joke from it. If there's any humor that appears in the show, I can 100% assure you, it is pure coincidence. This is my movie, and no one else's.

Wasn't funny.

I didn't enjoy this. It wasn't funny enough to be as long as it was, so I just had to keep waiting for it to end, my mind begging fate to give me a payoff that didn't come.

The art, like the length, would have been acceptable if it had been funnier. Wasn't terrible art, just had no style or interest. The people often seemed too long, especially when sitting down.

Everyone had a souther accent? Learn to cover that one up when doing Sam Jackson, buddy.

I was pleased with some of the timing involved in the humor. The background music that rolled in during the boxing scene was fitting, and cued up in a very pace-setting way. If the joke had payed off, that would have been a great scene. Right there you got an A on directing and a D on writing.

Keep up the work and develop the humor into something original and funny- I genuinely believe you could become a very successful and talented flash artist with practice.

CakeBread responds:

I'm getting a lot of hell about the voices here, and you have to realize it was two people doing almost every voice in that entire movie. It's going to crossover. A lot. South Park does almost the exact same thing, you'll notice that except for about 12 characters in the entire show, the same few voices get reused over and over. I didn't realize it would be such a big problem, especially since everyone seems to expect me to be able to mimic one of the most distinctive voices in Hollywood.

Everything else you said is subjective, but I want to put it out there for all four of you who read this: please be accepting of the voice talents that were available to us. It's not as easy as a lot of people think to get that right.

Lame dude.

Ok, that was'nt very funny....at all. That was actually completely retarded. You seriously have no humor at all. "Bugs on a windsheild" OMG SO FUNNY. Fuck you, and ur anoying flash. I actually saw the fucking movie and cold have done way better than this pile of shit.

CakeBread responds:

What I've found in this exploration into Newgrounds flash is that when someone doesn't like your flash, they don't just hate the movie, they take offense with you personally. I've gotten death threats from people who didn't appreciate the jokes in this movie. For some reason it's my god given obligation to amuse you people, and anything else is punishable by the most extreme levels of torture humanity has to offer.
