Reviews for "Nimian Hunter"

It was good.....

It was a good game, I really liked it. The gameplay was simple, and a bit reptitive. The plot was simple, yet mysterious. Id like to see more from you, or a sequal/parrallel to this game.

Amazing Game

This is one of the best games Ive played on Newgrounds. With great graphics and gameplay it was fun. But it was way to easy and could possibly of had some snadbox elements. Make it longer and harder for your next one. Good Job.

WOW!

Wohoo I killed the red dude. Seriously, is this a part of a series? I knew not to give him the flying Jelly fish, although I thought the ending would be me being king of the world! Stupid statue…Good work though.
(hope i didnt ruin the ending for someone.)

Waste of time and effort

This game is both a waste of the player's time and your (the creator of the game) effort. First off, it doesn't include instructions on what to do, so I first aimlessly stumbled across the land on the stupid horse. Next, after seeing the green things, it was way too easy to get them to the demon. If the rope snapped, just press the mouse again and it was there once more. Wow. Such a challenge.

The real challenge in this game is staying awake. Your horse goes a set speed that is in-between slow and really slow. There's no way to make it either stop or go faster, so you're not really that much in control of its actions, even less so than a traditional on-rails game like for example Star Fox. There is a critter much later in the game that does have a speed boost, but it's only useful for capturing the end creature, so it doesn't play much of a role, and by the time you get to that critter, you're just hoping the game will end.

The music is repetitive, but even more so is the horse's gallop. No variety in the sounds makes this game horrible. The creatures don't even protest that they've been caught, or even fight back.

The gameplay is what really suffers. The game has good graphics, but the gameplay isn't here. Controlling the horse is alright except that there should be some sort of autopilot mode or something to get to a target because going in a straight line for a minute or two is not something a game should make you do. There aren't even any distractions along the way, like the rupee quests in The Wind Waker.

I couldn't bear to play this game again to get to the alternate ending, I fed him the crystal thing and then saw the "twist". And you can click on his head thing, but I clicked about 300 times and nothing happened, so in desparation I tried killing myself by making the horse plow into the demon's leg and finally the relief of credits.

My question is WHY IS THIS GAME SO BAD?! The people who made it OBVIOUSLY have talent, so why did they not see that the galloping noise is too repetitive, that the capturing task is too easy, that a lack of speed to the objectives kills their game? I don't know. In testing their game, I would have thought they would have seen how annoying riding in a straight line with nothing to do was. But they didn't, and their game is complete crap because of it. It's pretty, but graphics don't make a game, gameplay does, and this game either has none, or has such easy gameplay (capturing the bugs) that it is pointless.

the next-gen of flash!

Won't lie, it IS a bit on the small size and it is fairly limited, but FUCK ME SIDEWAYS!!! Graphics are amazing and definitely the most technically amazing thing on this site.

Can't wait for your next effort!
