Reviews for "-Telepath RPG Chapter 1-"

Not bad

Since this is your first game I can understand some of the mistakes you've made. For one thing, personality and aptitude were totally useless. Even with learning your personality just to get Guy wasn't even worth it and you said aptitude helps you train faster? From what I've played, the cost and level up for the skills are exactly the same even if I had only 1 aptitude. Do not make up stupid shit just to get attention. The same goes for the high level books. If we can't play it in chapter 1, then don't put it in at all because it pisses people off.

One very important thing you forgot to do is to put the information for the defense/power/personality/aptitude "into" the game. It's annoying that I had to go to a website just to find out what each one does. And why did you have to make the running part so retarded? Next time make us hold shift or something. Also remove feedback and make pryoblast cost 5 points instead of 7. Feedback sucked ass and pryo wasn't even worth it because it costed a lot of points as well as a lot of gold to level up.

Now for the good points =] The style/chat/background was good and so was the gameplay. It was fun leveling up for an hour or so until I was godlike with high level mind blast. I admit the tent part was annoying for me and many other people (we're all impatient so don't forget that) but it wasn't as bad as other people mentioned. I'd recommend for the next chapter, gold would only be useful to upgrade your spells, while you should add experience points so you could choose to put them into defense/power etc. Can't wait for chapter 2 and hope to see lots of improvement.

As a last note, don't take complaints to the heart, but learn from it!

MalTheDestroyer responds:

I appreciate your attempts at constructive criticism, but you've got a few things wrong here.

1. Aptitude does, in fact, lower the cost of training. This is formula for raising your Psy Power, for example: powerupcost = (power*25)-aptitude*(power-1). So if your power is 4 and your aptitude is 5, you pay 85 gold--but if your aptitude is 9, you pay 73 gold. It ain't huge, but it adds up.
2. You actually can get the advanced books in this game--you just need an aptitude of 8 to buy them, is all.
3. Information on your stats is readily available on the character creation screen--click the buttons with the question marks.
4. You seem to think that every single special attack in the game is worthless, from Contact to Pyro Blast. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I'm sure others would disagree with you.

Anyway, I do appreciate the feedback, especially since you took the time to formulate it clearly. Thanks for the review!

I like it a little hard at first

Not bad at all cant wait for another one

MalTheDestroyer responds:

Thanks for the review!

Hmm it's quite glitched

It seemed like a nice game at the start, however when i was at the forest i couldn't walk nothing would react i could only open the menu
so i think you should fix that.

nice game on first sight tough.

MalTheDestroyer responds:

Sorry about that--a fix has already been uploaded, and is awaiting NG's approval. It should be up by Tuesday or Wednesday, I'd think.
