Reviews for "-Telepath RPG Chapter 1-"

Wait to go. The final version kicks ass.

Yeah. I've been playing it since you first posted it on xgen. It's come so far. You could be great. I find no problems with the game.

Way-to-go dude.

This is pretty good.

I liked this game, good style, impressive execution, kinda wish everything was more black and white, though. It'd be nice to see my minimum-maximum damages, so I wouldn't be surprised when my level 5 Pyro Blast does one damage, then twenty in the next round. I couldn't figure out how to get past the two sentries guarding the door, but I'm still playing, so I'll probably get it eventually.
You should probably broaden the tutorial, too, because I died at least five times before figuring out the best ideas, and this was like before it was even worth it to save.
Just make stuff more obvious; the gameplay is great.

MalTheDestroyer responds:

There is no way that a level 5 pyro blast would ever do 1 damage. I'll spell out the damage formulas for you if you want:

Mind blast = random # between 1 and your psy power level, plus your mind blast level

Pyroblast = random # between 1 and your psy power level, plus one, plus double your pyroblast level

Mind shield = random # between 1 and your psy defense level, plus your mind shield level

Unlike the others, the effects of Feedback are never random. It is dependent on 1) your psy defense and feedback level and 2) the amount of damage the enemy did to you in its last attack. You never never deal back more than that amount of damage plus 1, and you can never regain more than that amount of mental integrity plus 1, though you'll regain/deal back less than that if either your feedback level or psy defense is too low.

My advice--use Feedback after being hit with a particularly nasty Shadowblast.

and?

The music was good, game play interesting, and there was a story behind it (always a good thing). However I found no way to "earn money" as the game put it. I bought training and lost the rest gambling. The two people who game me cash, did it once and that got spent too. Where can I "earn" money? That is a problem.

MalTheDestroyer responds:

You "earn" money in combat outside of the Academy. If you're stuck with less than 15 gold, ask Falstaff for some--he'll give you some seed money. Then save, and if it isn't enough to get you out of the Academy (though if you have a personality of 6 or an aptitude of 6, it will be), gamble.

great but...

i spent all my money on gambling, is there a way to get more so i can leave?

MalTheDestroyer responds:

Yes--talk to your uncle and ask him for money. He'll only give you money once, though, so save afterwards and don't blow it. ;-) And he'll only do it if you have less than 15 gold.

I want to see Part 2!

Fantastic game...
Good music, good storyline, well tested. I didn't find a single bug if there was one.

Hints:
1) More money - gambling anyone?
2) Try getting into the leader's camp wihout using the main entrance.
