Reviews for "A Piano's Testimony"

Beautiful piece of art.

This song is very gentle, peaceful and graceful. The melody of the song was great and the piano was the perfect instrument for the making of this melody and tune. This is one work that must be credited for and I hope that you could make more and more beautiful music and keep up the fantastic work. 5/5 10/10.

Gravey responds:

Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed the tune so much. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and it is nice to see others enjoying it so much. :-)

Thanks for the review.

Very nicely done.

This is my new favorite. Hands down. But I wouldn't call it "Cuban" percussion. Latin is the more correct term. I really like the use of pitzicato (sp) strings and the use of marimba/xylophone (I'm thinking it's marimba because of the timbre) is excellent along with the piano. I don't know about the overtones you hear when you listen, but if this was acoustic, and it very well could be played at like a coffee shop or something, those overtones in all likelyhood would be the natural harmonic notes. That's the best way overtones are explained in live music. One little thing I would add is a djumbe to add a little bit of bass in the percussion. Those pitzicato strings really add to to the piece. This feels like a very well done piece that could easily be done at something like Individual and Ensemble competitions. I know you work really hard on your music and it really shows in this piece.

Gravey responds:

Well I called them Cuban Percs....because that is what they are called in my sample pack. Lol. I didn't label them Cuban personally, that is what they are actually labeled as. But in all honesty, is Cuba part of Latin America? So it is somewhat the same thing I believe. ;-)

There was definitely a marimba used, and pizzicato strings. Good ear my friend, good ear indeed. This was not played on an acoustic exactly. I am using a piano sample pack I bought a while back and am now able to use now that I have a new pc. It is very realistic and is sampled from a real piano, but I did not technically record this on an acoustic piano. Wish I had a piano or I could have, but I lack such a wonderful leisure item.

I'm glad you like the strings. I really agree with how they add a lot to the overall mix. They really bring out some color in this little tune.

Thanks for the great review my friend. :-)

OMG!!!!! IT'S LOVE AT FIRST LISTEN!!!!!!!

I was enraptured from the start! this is genius. the melody is flawlessly blended with the harmony. and the ritardando at the end and middle was a nice touch as well. annd you did keep the melody simple, though it isn't lacking for it, well done.
... i also don't hear that high pitched ring but...
any way 5/5 10/10

Gravey responds:

Aw shucks, you make me smile. :-)

Thanks for the review.

Nice work

I likes it. Ah likes it a lot.

It's a real pretty tune. You did exactly as intended when trying to give it a simple, realistic feel.

Tens!

Gravey responds:

Wonderful! Realistic is a good thing. ;-)
