Since you asked for critism, I would prefer it if it got more chaotic more quickly. A soundtrack is obvious room for improvement. I'd experiment with using the up and down buttons to increase/decrease the speed of falling to increase/decrease bounce. Another idea I had that would make a more tricky and interesting game was instead of having direct control of the ball, control the forward/back spin of the ball so you can only estimate how much it will bounce in either direction. I see this forward/backspin idea working more on a platformer style game than a missile avoding one.
