Reviews for "Rotting Onslaught"

i like the game.

BUT I WANT THE MUSIC SO BAD!!!!!

Those are indeed British Royal marines, so...

I don't see what's the rut here with kingpin66. I mean, the marines in this game, if you would notice, have the distinct British accents that anyone would notice right away (And just how can British marines be considered hillbillys/whatever in this perspective, considering I don't believe you'd ever here of a hillbilly/redneck having a British accent, at least, none that I am aware of, considering those two terms refer to certain people who live in the Southern part of the U.S., hmm?), and well, since this game was made 5 years ago, I suppose this sort of argument isn't very relevent at this point, if you ask me. TMulholland is right in what he says, if you pay attention to details here, so no need to get all tight here. Just sayin', but not everyone lives in the U.S., so... Thought I'd respond, seeing that certain comment. We can discern, based on your comment kingpin66, that you, indeed, served in the U.S. marines, but there are other types of marines out there besides the U.S. Marine Corps, like the British Royal Marines Commandos, Russian Naval Infantryman, Troupes de marine, the Republic of Korea Marine Corps, just to name a few, which is something everyone would do well to note. Oh, and British Royal Marine Commandos, use the SA-80/L85 Assault Rifle, not the M16/M4A1. I believe that's what I'll point out here.

Now, as for the game, I played this one 4 years ago, and I thought it was pretty good, and I still do, just playing again after a while for the heck of it. Just the car is a bit hard to control lol, but anyways... I just felt I had to respond to that comment as I had said before, just some habit of mine. No hard feelings intended here. I simply thought there were some things I would like to point out here, concerning... Honestly, most people, like me, come on this site just for fun, not to start some sort of serious discussion, for goodness sake. And besides, programming a game in itself is a lot of work to do, which is more than most of us could understand, or ever have to do. I say this because I understand how hard it is to debug games, set graphics, codes, this and that, so if you ever moan, you would do to consider this. If anyone would want to point me out on certain things, I would be happy to refute. Again, no hard feelings here. Have a nice day.

Needs more work

Its not too bad but it needs more levels though. And by the way Kingpin66 in case you didnt notice the marines are British Royal Marine Commandoes not US Marines so the graphics are fine if you ask me

I'm sorry, but no...just...no

I couldn't even bring myself to finish the first level. I saw Marines in the title discription and I thought, "oh cool, finally someone uses the marines to do something instead of the army...." Instead, I found six guys that more closely resemble redneck, survivalist fanatics that are either crack shots with "sniper rifles" or go all rambo with what I'm guessing to be a fully automatic assault rifle...

I'm an infantry marine and did't take very kindly to your portrayal of us. We generally use the M16A4 or M4A1, depending on your MOS or how much your seniors hate you. Both rifle and carbine are burst at best and we are trained from day one to use single shot no matter what. As for the snipers, movies and video games over glorify them. A sniper team is trigger man, spotter and support. Only one has a scoped rifle, and they never do patrols just to do patrols like riflemen do. As for naming the machine gun guys assault...assault really fires the MK153 SMAW.

On to how the marines acted...90% of marines have a Zday back-up plan, and they also know to fire for the head. As for anyone who tries to say that its hard to fire for the head obviously hasnt done table 2 and table 3 ranges. The concept of those ranges tis to aim with the off-hand at short ranges to score two center-mass hits followed immediatly by a finishing headshot in a very short amount of time. These are the most common ranges done. A deploying infantry unit has to do it a minimum of three times but good company commanders put in for the range as many times as they can. Marines were even investigated at one point because some outside organization noticed there were so many confirmed enemy KIA with neat little holes in thier skulls.

On the upside, it had killing zombies...I hate zombies.
You did decent from a flash gamer stand point.

Please don't use marines again unless they will actually act like marines, not hillbillys or the army...which coincidentally is the same as hillbillys...Please take into account the multiple demographs that visit this site in the future. If you put marines on something, marines will look at it. If its wrong at all and its about infantry you will be put in your place. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame you, I blame media in general by giving the world a very incorrect vision of what marines are. I wish I could be a military tactics consultant sometimes, then there would be a little less misconception floating around.

gavD responds:

thanks for playing! Honestly, I don't know anything about the marines or the army really, I've just seen a bunch of zombie movies and figured I'd put marines in because they're the toughest guys! I'll check my facts better in future :-)

Thank you for your interesting and informative review!
